Summary
-
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has partnered with Nike and McDonald’s to launch the Nike Book 2 “Sedona,” a special shoe designed to honor his long relationship with the Nike brand.
-
This sneaker’s design takes inspiration from a unique McDonald’s restaurant in Sedona, Arizona. Unlike most McDonald’s, this location has turquoise arches instead of golden ones to blend in with the surrounding scenery, as required by local rules.
-
The standard version of the shoe has a white and sand color scheme with turquoise details. A very limited ‘Friends & Family’ edition takes it a step further, covering the entire shoe in turquoise.
Devin Booker, the Phoenix Suns star and five-time NBA All-Star, is celebrating his roots with a special sneaker release. Before his professional career, Booker was a McDonald’s All-American, and now he’s partnering with Nike and McDonald’s on the Book 2 “Sedona” shoe. Instead of the usual McDonald’s colors, the design takes inspiration from a unique McDonald’s restaurant in Sedona, Arizona – the only one in the world with turquoise arches. It’s a nod to his personal connection with the area.
The McDonald’s in Sedona, Arizona, is famous for its turquoise arches, which were chosen to blend in with the area’s red rock scenery. The new Book 2 “Sedona” shoes take inspiration from this unique landmark. They have a light, sandy-colored base with bright turquoise details, mirroring the McDonald’s arches. As a fun touch, the McDonald’s logo is featured on the shoe’s tongue and side, combining the world of basketball shoes with a bit of pop culture.
Nike and McDonald’s created an even more limited edition shoe just for close friends and family. This version features the bright turquoise color all over the shoe’s upper and sole. Beyond the McDonald’s-inspired look, both shoes are designed for high performance on the basketball court. They have a low-cut design with Cushlon 3.0 cushioning, an Air Zoom unit in the front, and a comfortable foam lining, all built to support Devin Booker’s quick, dynamic movements.
What really makes this collaboration stand out is the packaging. Each pair of shoes comes in a special turquoise box designed to look just like a vintage Big Mac container, complete with the iconic arches on the lid. It’s a fun and sophisticated detail that instantly makes the shoes collectible and shows the designers truly understood what fans would love.
The Book 2 “Sedona” sneaker is designed for both basketball players and sneaker enthusiasts. A limited edition of just 50 pairs will be given away through a McDonald’s app sweepstakes – you’ll need to buy a special drink to enter, from May 22nd to May 28th. The wider release, in a different colorway, will be available on June 2, 2026, at Nike and select stores for $155. Nike and McDonald’s are also hinting at a temporary pop-up shop happening before the official launch.
