Farmer Wants A Wife: Sophie Reveals SHOCKING Truth About Dustin!

Winner of Farmer Wants a Wife, Sophie Trethowan, shares insights into her rural life following her match with Dustin Manwaring from the popular dating series in the previous season.

28-year-old Sophie recently transferred to a farm in Condobolin, NSW, from her previous residence in Mildura, and she now describes the shift as a significant transformation in her lifestyle.

‘I’m working from home and kind of on my own a lot more now,’ she explains.

In her recent interview with Yahoo Lifestyle, she pointed out that since Dustin spends extended periods of time working on the farm, you should expect to be self-reliant and do a fair amount of driving.

She added: “It’s a significant shift in lifestyle, yet it’s turned out well. He has a large family who have all been incredibly supportive, and luckily, they all reside nearby, making it pleasant.

In the Condo neighborhood, we’ve found a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We’ve met some fantastic new people, and I’m feeling right at home now.

Last year, Sophie joined the Family Wellness And Wellbeing (FWAW) center, where she was employed as a speech therapist. At that time, she lived in Mildura, Victoria, which is a regional city with approximately 30,000 residents and located about 542 kilometers from Melbourne.

Sophie found herself relocating to the quaint, small-town setting of Condobolin, home to approximately 3,000 residents. As a result, she ended up sharing living quarters with Dustin in his humble, country-style cabin.

During the Farmer Wants a Wife reunion special in May, they confessed that living on his rural property had turned into a challenge for the couple.

During her regular trips, Sophie hesitated about relocating to the farm and making the cabin her permanent residence.

She remarked, “This place undoubtedly belongs to a boy, as there’s an overwhelming amount of work that needs to be done here. I’m not certain it would pass a current health and safety check.

‘I moved out of my family home to another little house on the farm. It’s liveable,’ Dustin argued.

Yet, he admitted that the decision to relocate ‘slowed down’ their relationship, as Sophie disliked the living arrangements and was unwilling to reside on the farm.

Dustin mentioned during the show that she hasn’t been frightened off just yet, but Sophie hinted that the cabin could still make her run for cover unless he takes care of it by hiring a plumber to fix any issues.

‘Yeah, no, there’s no doubt about it. I’ll do what I’ve got to do,’ Dustin promised her.

Fans online were on Sophie’s side, with many pointing out the cabin looked pretty rough.

One person on X wrote, ‘Perhaps it would have been better to show her the place she’d be staying before I took her there, instead of Dustin.’

As I walked by that residence, a friend of mine commented, “Boy, that place looks like it needs some serious TLC.” Another acquaintance added, “It’s not just unsightly, it’s potentially dangerous.” In simpler terms, I’d say they were expressing concern about the house’s current state and suggesting a thorough cleanup.

‘Sophie – imagine wanting to live in a liveable house. I mean what a city girl,’ joked another.

‘Apparently not even a renovated cottage, could have saved that relationship,’ posted one more.

Someone else wondered: ‘Makes me question what was the fancy houses they stay in during filming’.

‘She nailed it when she said it wouldn’t pass a health and safety check,’ one more laughed.

The pair frequently share updates about their cabin renovation progress with their Instagram followers.

They also shared the news on the FWAW Instagram account.

Dustin shared with the fan that they’ve been enjoying each other’s company immensely, having a fantastic time together, and it’s been simply wonderful. He also mentioned that they’ve put in quite a bit of effort on renovating the cottage, which has been a positive experience too.

Sophie mentioned that Dustin has been making progress and we’ve managed to get it working again. To put it simply, everything has gone wonderfully well, she added.
