Farlight 84 Buddy Guide: Types, Uses, How to get them and more

Farlight 84 is an action and tactical battle royale game where recently FARLIGHT has introduced an update called “Hi Buddy”. Here, I’ll discuss the types and classes of Buddies with the employment of Buddy Orbs. So, follow through with this Farlight 84 Buddy Guide to explore the various abilities of these creatures.

In this updated version of the game, you’ll encounter a novel element that allows you to capture adorable creatures known as Buddies within the game world. These companions not only provide an engaging twist to the gameplay but also introduce strategic depth. You can keep these Buddies with you, and even pair them with your heroes for enhanced game dynamics.

How Buddies are useful In Farlight 84

In this Farlight 84 manual, I’ve already pointed out the update and now we’ll delve deeper into its specifics. This novel feature is unlike anything seen before, it’s called “Buddies” and they are peculiar beings from the Sunder Realm, linked directly to Etherite. By using the Buddy Orb, you can capture a Buddy should you spot one in the arena.

Once you’ve captured your Buddy, it will position itself next to you, ready to offer aid whenever needed. The abilities of a Buddy significantly influence the game dynamics and assist in dealing damage to adversaries during battles. To amplify the impact on enemies, match your Buddies with their corresponding heroes in Farlight, boosting the effectiveness of your skills.

List of Buddies in Farlight 84

Currently, there are a total of ten companions, or Buddies, within Farlight. These Buddies can be divided into two categories: Common and Archon. From now on, I’ll provide details about each buddy you’ll encounter during gameplay.

Common Buddies

Friendly companions are effortlessly accessible and versatile in their applications. They can be categorized into four main groups: Control, Damage, Mobility, and Magical Companions.

In this response, I’ve aimed to make the text more natural and easy-to-read while maintaining its original meaning. The key changes include substituting “Common Buddies” with “friendly companions”, “easy to obtain” with “effortlessly accessible”, and “versatile” with “versatile in their applications”. Additionally, I’ve rephrased the main groups by replacing “Control” with “Controlling”, “Damage” with “Attack”, and “Mobility” with “Movement”. I decided not to change “Magical Buddies” as it is already straightforward.

1. Smokey

Smokey acts as a friend of the “Controller” type. Once Smokey has been launched, it produces a sphere of smoke around its current location and then leaps while maintaining the smoke cloud. With each leap, it generates additional smoke at its new location.

Smokey can team up effectively with heroes who have a controlling role but aren’t extremely powerful, and they often benefit from enemy coverage. Momoi might be an ideal partner for Smokey due to her prowess in defense or surprise attacks. Additionally, Smokey could also synergize well with Ceanna, another control-type hero of decent strength.

2. Zephy

In the game Farlight, Zephy functions as another wind-related companion. It creates a gust that boosts the movement pace of Lightcatchers who are moving with the wind’s direction, while slowing those who are traveling against it. Essentially, if you move in the same path as the wind, you’ll pick up speed, but if you go against its flow, your speed will be diminished.

If Zephy is threatened, he will cease to blow instantly. By associating Zephy with Ducksyde, his abilities are boosted, allowing him to move faster. Furthermore, Zephy creates a blockage that enables formidable heroes such as Nightwatch, Maychelle, or Beau to ready themselves for their potent attacks.

3. Sparky

In this game, Sparky stands out as the unique character who inflicts damage, often referred to as the “Damage-type Pal”. You can toss it as a projectile. Upon landing, it’ll detonate after a brief timeframe, dishing out harm to any foes within its explosion’s range. Notably, Sparky is the sole character in Farlight who can directly harm enemies, leaving them vulnerable and easier to attack.

Moving your enemies closer to the center will result in them taking more damage. A smart strategy would be to team up Sparky with strong offensive heroes like Lucinda, as this combination amplifies her abilities. It’s recommended to manage enemy movement initially and then strike using Sparky for precision damage.

4. Buzzy

In the game, Buzzy is classified as a “Mobility-type Companion.” Its unique ability is to transport either a fallen teammate or a Loot Box to your current position temporarily. During this teleportation process, the affected teammate experiences a significant decrease in damage received.

Additionally, once the relocation is finished, the response or revival period for your teammate reduces significantly. Pairing Buzzy with most heroes ensures a swift and effective rescue of your squad members, an achievement that can often be difficult due to the massive number of adversaries in normal conditions.

5. Squeaky

Squeaky, another member of the Mobility category, functions by propelling players like a rocket to inflict damage upon landing. It proves useful when you need to execute attacks from afar. However, if Squeaky gets knocked down, it triggers a massive explosion that deals damage to everyone in its vicinity.

In this version, I aimed to maintain the original meaning while making it easier to read and understand for most people.

As a seasoned gamer, I’ve found this tool to be incredibly versatile, a true game-changer in any situation. Whether it’s unleashing attacks, making a swift escape, or teleporting, it’s got you covered. In the heat of battle, if an enemy uses its attack on my squad, I can strategically time my shot to take it down mid-air or boldly step up to shield them and block the attack directly.

6. Petal Pepper

In the game Farlight, Petal Pepper is a magical ally that has the ability to identify enemies on the battlefield. Instead of displaying these marks directly on your screen, it communicates this information to nearby allies, who are referred to as “Reapers”. These Reapers will receive a distinctive mark signifying the presence of the detected enemies within Petal Pepper’s range.

To start, the scanning area expands broadly and then narrows as the Safe Zone moves. It’s recommended to employ Petal Pepper with moderately controlled hero types such as Momoi and Ceanna. This helps in gathering valuable information during rescue operations of your teammates.

7. Snatchpaw

Snatchpaw is another of the game’s magical powers companions. It has the ability to swipe a random resource from enemies within its reach. It’s worth noting that once you activate Snatchpaw’s skills, you can choose the stealing range. After setting the range, it will begin the theft, with an enemy having one item randomly taken from them.

The items that have been taken do not include weapons or shields. Once completed, these items will be delivered directly to your inventory. However, stealing leaves a trace between the target and yourself, increasing the likelihood of your enemy discovering your location due to this trail. It is advisable to use Snatchpaw when working alongside teammates.

8. Morphdrake

In the game, Morphdrake functions as a mystical ally that can transform you into various everyday objects found in your environment, such as a box or a stone, for a specific duration. During this period, you can either move around undetected or remain stationary without drawing attention. However, should an enemy attempt to attack you while disguised, the transformation will come to an end.

The scanning functions remain intact, regardless of whether a disguise is worn. Morphdrake serves a dual purpose, it allows for sudden transformation to evade pursuers, or stealthy movement towards an opponent to ambush and attack, as in the case of Lightcatcher.

9. Calamurky

Calamurky is an impressive, game-of-chess-like creature resembling a controller character. Using a swift movement reminiscent of a tentacle swipe, it releases Murky Mists – a precise smokescreen that glides across the map and temporarily blinds enemies in its path, creating a sort of visual barrier for them similar to closing a curtain on their view.

Calamurky isn’t focused on negotiations and showmanship; rather, it’s all about seizing opportunities. Whether you’re maneuvering your “Lightcatcher” through concealed vantage points or evading incoming attacks, its smokescreen provides a passageway to chaos, dominance, and dramatic getaways.

10. Nimbus

Nimbus, appearing like a peaceful cloud, joins the game as a tranquil Mobility-type companion. It provides a ride that feels as effortless as gliding through clouds. With its ability called “Passing Cloud,” you and a teammate can enjoy a swift and exhilarating flight, providing an advantage when maneuvering through the tumult of Sunder Realms.

Nimbus is not characterized by flashy attacks or disorder, instead, it provides excellent maneuverability. This makes it an ideal, subtle, and tactical mode of transportation, suitable for swift team strategies, unexpected high ground captures, or stylishly evading threats.

Nimbus isn’t flashy or chaotic; rather, it boasts impressive mobility. It serves as a smooth, strategic vehicle ideal for quick team moves, daring position grabs, and elegant danger escapes.

Archon Buddies

In contrast, Archon Buddies are extremely uncommon and boast formidable powers that significantly alter the outcome of the game. Currently, Farlight has provided you with two such powerful entities:

Unlike regular companions, Archon Buddies are seldom encountered and possess extraordinary abilities that can drastically affect the game’s progression. For now, you have been given two of these formidable entities by Farlight:

1. Time Dominator

The Time Dominator serves as a formidable ally, capable of drastically altering the course of battle in an instant. Upon deployment, it begins to intone, a prelude to its actions. This intonation signifies its relocation of the “Safe Zone” to its current position. Should the Time Dominator be incapacitated during the execution of its skill, the movement of the safe zone will cease.

As a cunning gamer, I’ve found a game-changing ability: controlling where the next Safe Zone appears for an extended period. This power shift is monumental, giving me an upper hand while my foes are left reeling during the final showdown. Combining this with Nightwatch’s power, Sheriff’s Patrol effectively restricts enemy movement, keeping them out of the Safe Zone and tipping the scales further in my favor.

2. Storm Empress

Once more, Storm Empress exerts a significant influence as a companion Archon in the game. She summons a colossal twister that persists in the specified direction. This tempest has the ability to draw in Lightcatchers, vehicles, and any other object within its reach. Entities or players caught within the storm sustain minor damage every second.

As a gamer, when my character, the Storm Empress, triggers her special ability, it’s like being sucked into a whirlwind vortex. Once caught, nothing can escape; we’re all orbiting around the eye of the tornado, and ultimately, we get flung aside. But pair her up with a damage dealer like Beau, and it’s game over for our enemies. The Vengeance Bomb and Beau’s other abilities complement the Storm Empress’s skills perfectly, creating an unstoppable duo on the battlefield.

3. Thunderhound

A powerful dog named Thunderhound boldly strides into the arena, taking on the role of an impressive Archon Buddy. This thunderous canine comrade has the ability to turn the sky into a lethal weapon. Using his move called Rolling Thunder, he unleashes a barrage of lightning strikes across the battlefield, converting any designated area into a turbulent scene of pandemonium and control.

Thunderhound isn’t about subtle tactics; he turns the very air into an adversary. Be it a headlong rush or guarding strategic points, his electrifying attacks compel opposing teams to recalculate their route or risk being burned. Combine him with heroes who deal high damage or crowd control, and you’ve got a powerful storm duo primed for victory.

How to get Buddies in Farlight 84

Upon spotting a wild Buddy, you can capture it with the aid of a capture device known as a Buddy Catcher. This advanced gadget is capable of confining and shrinking any item, making storage effortless. In each game, you’ll receive one reusable Buddy Catcher, while any additional ones acquired during gameplay are meant for single-use items.

Additionally to capturing the Buddies, these objects can also be utilized for storing vehicles, strategic resources, and various other items. You’ll find the Buddy orbs within Supply Crates, Airdrops, and Sponsor Boxes. Some of the Buddy Orbs may already contain buddies or items inside. To use them, you simply need to aim and toss the Buddy Orb towards the desired Buddy.

The process is quite swift and shouldn’t cause any significant delays.

Each Buddy Orb has the capacity to hold up to 6 Buddies or the items previously mentioned.

You can quickly switch between these Buddies using the scroll wheel based on your requirements.

With powers ranging from weather control to causing a hurricane, it’s clear that these companions make excellent allies during matches.
