Fantastic Four Star Claps Back at Deadpool Co-Creator For MCU Criticism

A recent conversation between a long-time Marvel artist and a new face in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has sparked further discussion about the quality of the franchise’s visual effects. This exchange brought a recent comment into the public eye, and as conversations about the future of the MCU grow, so does interest in this topic.

Ralph Ineson responds to Rob Liefeld’s MCU VFX criticism

Rob Liefeld shared a GIF from The Fantastic Four: First Steps featuring Galactus, and commented that the special effects looked noticeably poor, stating they had ‘fallen off a cliff’.

I saw that Ralph Ineson, who played Galactus in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ had a pretty funny response to something online – just ‘Rent free’ with a crying-laugh emoji! It seems like Rob Liefeld, the comic creator, has been voicing his disappointment with the recent Marvel movies for a while now, and this is just part of a bigger pattern. Apparently, his feelings are connected to what happened with the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ movie – it sounds like things weren’t exactly smooth sailing behind the scenes.

Rob Liefeld, one of the creators of Deadpool, has expressed frustration with Marvel Studios. It started when he requested a specific on-screen credit for the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie. Marvel denied his request and instead included his name in the regular end credits alongside other comic book creators.

He found out at the movie premiere that Marvel hadn’t invited him or his family to the afterparty. He also noted that Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, didn’t acknowledge him on the red carpet, even though they were close to each other.

In a recent podcast, Rob Liefeld described feeling deliberately undermined at a premiere event and stated that Marvel’s Kevin Feige doesn’t respect comic book creators. This led Liefeld to end his work with Marvel. Later, after the release of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ he shared a photo of a nearly empty IMAX cinema, explaining that the film wasn’t attracting repeat viewers because it was simply “dull and boring.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps received mostly good reviews, with critics giving it an 86% rating and audiences a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It earned over $521 million globally. The film concludes with Galactus being defeated and banished to another part of the universe.

The Fantastic Four will be back in the upcoming Avengers movie, titled Doomsday, and Doctor Doom will be the primary villain.
