Fantastic Four Reveals Best Look Yet at Galactus’ Planet-Eating Worldship, Taa II

The First Journey of the Fantastic Four unveils Galactus’ planet-devouring spacecraft, Taa II

The iconic Marvel villain, Galactus, known for consuming planets, is poised to make his MCU entrance in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. This time around, Game of Thrones actor Ralph Ineson will portray the world-eater. The ominous Galactus and his companion, the enigmatic Silver Surfer, are set to appear in the film, with Ineson’s character having already targeted Earth for destruction in this new adaptation.

In many Marvel stories, Galactus is depicted as a colossal figure, capable of traveling through galaxies using cosmic power. Often, he’s accompanied by a massive spaceship called the Taa II, which is larger than an entire solar system. This spacecraft assists in his planet-consuming campaigns and serves as a memorial to his deceased homeworld.

Rewatching “Fantastic Four: First Steps” offers a fresh perspective, showcasing an outstanding depiction of Galactus’ Worldship Taa II, as seen in the forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

On Disney+ (and also shared on social media by Fan F4 Updates), you can now find an exclusive five-minute clip from Fantastic Four. This clip features a segment where an ABC presenter presents a montage of the team’s exciting adventures, and it concludes with a sneak peek at the latest appearance of Taa II.

From a passionate filmgoer’s perspective, the latest frame unfolds an awe-inspiring spectacle: my eyes behold Galactus’ cosmic vessel, the Worldship, relentlessly devouring a celestial body in its path. This breathtaking scene offers a glimpse into the intricate mechanics of the ship, seemingly designed to quench the unquenchable hunger of Galactus.

Although not definitively proven, it appears that the planet being demolished by the Taa II might not be an alternate version of First Steps‘ Earth, but instead could stem from a catastrophic series of events depicted in the movie, highlighting the formidable might of the longstanding Marvel villain.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, the Taa II spaceship appears to have a different appearance compared to its traditional comic book depiction. Instead of the distinctive Möbius strip pattern, it seems more like a large, centralized hub with a drill attached at one end in this movie version.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be witnessing Ralph Ineson bring Galactus to life in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”. This upcoming film boasts a star-studded cast including Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Matt Shakman, the director from “WandaVision”, is at the helm of this production. The story revolves around Marvel’s First Family, whose world is on the line due to Galactus’ arrival. Get ready for an epic showdown when “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hits theaters on July 25th.

Getting To Know Galactus’ Space Ship

Since the emergence of Galactus in Marvel Comics, his cosmic vessel, the Taa II, has always been present. Named after Galactus’ original planetary home, which predates the Big Bang itself, the Taa II holds significant history and importance within the Marvel universe.

The Taa II is famous for its vastness, comparable to an entire solar system. However, much like the cosmic entity Galactus, it possesses the unique capability of being reduced in size due to its power to manipulate the Power Cosmic, a Marvel villain’s extraordinary ability (further details about the Power Cosmic can be found here).

Such immense size may attract prey towards it via its gravitational force, functioning much like an expansive celestial cobweb for any planets Galactus has chosen to destroy.

In the comic books, the spaceship has a design reminiscent of a Mobius strip, giving it a sleek, metallic appearance like a space station. However, in the movie version, this vessel appears differently, more akin to a large meteor with an enormous jet exhaust port located at the rear end.

Galactus constructed the Taa II following his initial cosmic conquest, where he consumed the once-living Archeopia. Once he had extracted all sustenance from the planetary remnants, he utilized the leftover materials to craft his Worldship as a mobile command center for his interstellar endeavors.

Judging by the brief looks we’ve had of the spaceship in the latest movie, it appears that the Fantastic Four might pay a visit to the Taa II at some stage in the story, but the extent of their exploration is yet to be revealed.
