Fans Were Freaking Out After Chris Hemsworth Posted (Seemingly) A Goodbye To Thor, But They’re Missing One Key Detail
After Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson departed from their roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Hemsworth‘s character Thor has been one of the few remaining, and most prominent, original members of the Avengers team. As other Avengers, such as Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, are also handing over their roles to new characters, it leaves us pondering just how long Thor will continue to be a part of the storyline.
There’s a strong possibility that Hemsworth could soon retire his Thor character, following the trend set by other Avengers. But, just recently, fans were alarmed because they thought he was quitting right away.
Marvel Fans Were Afraid Chris Hemsworth Was Leaving The MCU
Yesterday, I shared a heartfelt video on my YouTube channel, titled “Thank You! The Legacy of Thor.” This video journeyed through my experience, from the initial days of my Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) journey up until today. Accompanying the video was a post expressing…
As a die-hard fan, wielding Mjolnir and later Stormbreaker as Thor has been an unparalleled privilege throughout the past 15 years. Yet, what truly set it apart… was the shared experience with each of you. Your enthusiasm, your roaring applause, and the love you’ve shown for this iconic character have meant more to me than words can express.
Without a doubt, the video and post took fans by surprise, leading many to assume it was a goodbye. Initially, numerous posts suggested that upon seeing the post, people believed it was an announcement of retirement. Comments expressed…
- Got scared for a second that this was announcement that you were retiring from the character -@reallynotnoone
- I my heart skipped a beat the second I saw this came across this video, I THOUGHT YOU WERE RETIRING 😭 PLEASE DON’T SCARE US LIKE THAT MY FATHER AND I ADORE THOR AND YOU -@veronicakim5412
- I WAS THINKING THIS WAS THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE THOR’S END IN MCU Don’t scare me like that, Chris!! -@nichols._.editss
- literally got scared….Chris Hemsworth is a true legend …..Lots of love from India Sir -@vedant3598
- Ok. I thought this is like a farewell video Need Thor 5 -@hi_im_willow
However, fans don’t need to be too worried about losing Thor. At least not yet.
Chris Hemsworth Isn’t Done With Thor Quite Yet
Although Hemsworth’s post might seem like a farewell, anyone who watched the unveiling of the Avengers: Doomsday cast is aware that the Thor actor still has more to do. His name was the first one announced in the Marvel livestream’s grand reveal. Furthermore, he further emphasized this at the end of his post by stating…
I really appreciate you turning my Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure into an experience I’ll never forget. Now it’s time to face Doomsday!
It doesn’t necessarily mean that Chris Hemsworth’s days as Thor are over. We know he’ll be in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday, but it’s not certain that the character will make it through those events. This could be a sign that Hemsworth is starting to bid farewell to his time within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
