Fans viciously turn on Keith Urban after shock split from Nicole Kidman: ‘You lost the greatest thing to ever happen to you’

People are expressing their disappointment with Keith Urban following the news of his separation from Nicole Kidman, his wife of 19 years.

The singer, originally from New Zealand and aged 57, received a lot of comments on his Instagram. Many fans were urging him to get back together with his 58-year-old actress wife.

Recent posts have been utterly swamped with fans sharing their grief over the breakup.  

“Are you out of your mind? Nicole is incredibly attractive. You’d be so fortunate to be with such a stunning and famous star,” one person commented.

“I’m truly sorry, but Keith just wasn’t the right partner for me; Nicole was often upset about him,” shared another person. “It’s ridiculous to mix up her movie roles with what was actually happening in her personal life. Nicole, I’m supporting you,” they added.

Another person added: ‘See if you can resolve things. Things aren’t necessarily better elsewhere. This could really hurt your children.’

‘Sorry, you lost the greatest thing to ever happen to you,’ yet another commented. 

‘Work on your marriage!!! Don’t give up. You have children!!!’ insisted someone else. 

“Please try to reconcile with your wife! Marriage isn’t easy, and I’ve been married for 55 years, so I know! There’s really nothing worth ending your marriage over! Your daughters will be deeply hurt if you split up,” one fan wrote.

“Please, don’t leave your wife and break up your family,” pleaded one person, and another simply said, “Please save your family.”

“Nicole saved your life, and this is how you repay her?” one fan questioned, while another chimed in, “Don’t give up on your marriage. 19 years is something to be celebrated!”

Others shared messages of support, with several standing by the country crooner.  

Oh my gosh, I just *had* to tell Keith to keep going! He’s seriously such an amazing performer, you guys! And honestly, someone else said it perfectly – do what feels right, Keith! Don’t listen to anyone else’s opinions – you know best! He’s just the best!

Someone else added: ‘Sending you and Nicole love in this difficult time.’

This follows reports that Urban could receive over $17 million after his unexpected split from Kidman – a result of a clause in their prenuptial agreement linked to him maintaining sobriety.

According to Radar Online, Keith supposedly entered into an agreement with the actress prior to their 2006 wedding. This agreement would give him $900,000 for each year they were married.

However, the contract includes a unique condition – a ‘Cocaine Clause’ – that specifies Urban will only receive the funds if he remained free from drugs and alcohol throughout the marriage.

Throughout their 19 years together, the once-prominent couple built up a substantial real estate collection, estimated to be worth around $282 million.

Urban has long been open about his past struggles with addiction. 

During a 2010 conversation with Oprah Winfrey, he shared that Nicole organized an intervention only a few months after they got married.

She decided to step in and start this intervention. The atmosphere in the room felt just right, filled with love. I thought to myself, “Put the cuffs on, let’s go,” he said.

He shared that the support he received was life-saving and signaled the beginning of his extended journey to get sober – with Kidman supporting him throughout it all.

The couple, parents to daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, have been separated since the beginning of summer.

According to sources, the distance between them became clearer after Nicole’s mother passed away in September 2024.

Their final joint public outing, a FIFA Club World Cup 2025 game in June, suggested there was some underlying tension.

Even though they’ve separated, people close to the situation believe a reconciliation isn’t out of the question – however, their demanding schedules make it difficult for them to reconnect.

Urban continues to tour, while Nicole balances family life with her filming commitments.
