Bindi Irwin’s 2015 win on Dancing With The Stars has fans wondering if her brother, Robert Irwin, will follow in her footsteps and win the competition in 2025 – he’s currently a strong contender!
I’m a huge fan, but I’m really worried about the latest dance! People are starting to notice his song choice, and honestly, it might be the thing that sends him home. It’s a tough spot, and I’m hoping he can turn things around.
For Disney night on the show, wildlife expert Bindi Irwin and her dance partner Witney Carson performed a cha-cha to Shakira’s song ‘Try Everything’ from the movie Zootopia.
The song choice appeared to be connected to Robert’s work promoting the film, and also to his role as Robert Furwin, a koala, in the next Zootopia movie.
Even though Robert earned a strong score of 22, many fans were unhappy with the music and worried it could prevent him from winning a medal.
One user on X expressed dissatisfaction with the song selections for Robert, believing they resulted in awkward choreography by Witney.

Someone else added, ‘Please give Robert some better music! It’s like he needs the right tools to enjoy it – he can’t appreciate it without them!’
One viewer wondered when Robert and Witney would receive a strong song, allowing them to demonstrate their potential and compete for the championship.
One viewer bluntly stated that the performance felt like a commercial for the dancer’s movie. They also pointed out that this was the second week in a row the music didn’t fit the dance, and that limited what the dancer could do.
Even though fans worried about the music Robert chose, the judges on Dancing with the Stars didn’t share those concerns.
Judge Derek Hough praised Robert Irwin’s signature style, noting that he possesses the same captivating charisma as his late father, Steve Irwin.
Derek said I have a natural charisma, like Steve Irwin, and that watching me perform always makes him smile.
Derek wasn’t fully impressed with Robert’s performance, specifically noticing some unusual arm movements.
He also suggested to Robert that he needs to ‘open up’ his hips to allow better leg extension.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out something noticeably wrong with Robert’s performance, which seemed to embarrass him slightly.
She explained that sometimes I freeze in place, almost like I’m posing for a picture, and she wants me to keep moving smoothly instead.
Inaba added she could see him ‘flexing his muscles’ and that he needed to relax more.
She playfully said, ‘Look at my back,’ then stood up and mimicked the star’s showy moves from the dance floor.
As expected, Robert handled the criticism with good humor, responding with a smile, a laugh, and a simple ‘thank you,’ seemingly taking the feedback in stride.
Judge Bruno Tonioli praised the performance, calling it ‘clean, clear, and sweet’.
