Supporters of Jamie Dornan’s dark comedy series, “The Tourist,” should not expect a third season to materialize, even though it ended on a massive cliffhanger.
In 2022, the series introduced Dornan as a man from Ireland who mysteriously finds himself in Australia with no memory of his past. As the story progressed, the drama shifted to Ireland during its second season, revealing a major clue about The Man’s true identity in the finale scenes.
Fans find themselves pondering whether the show will continue, given the massive cliffhanger, but creators Harry and Jack Williams have shared that at present, there’s no talk of producing another episode or season.
Jamie is fantastic and we really enjoyed working with him, [however], I believe it would be challenging.” Jack shared this sentiment with RadioTimes.com. “At the moment, we don’t have any ideas for another project. If he approached us saying, ‘I’m eager to work on something’, we’d certainly give it a shot.
Let’s brainstorm, as it sounds enjoyable. However, we need to ensure it’s worthwhile, and I’m not certain if it’s something we would actively pursue.

Harry added, “There are only so many instances where, serving as the starting point for a three-season storyline, that’s quite a distance ahead,” he said. “By season three, he knows himself pretty much to a tee. By the end of season two, they both had reached a conclusion.
At the end of season two, it’s revealed that the character played by Dornan, Eugene Cassidy, appears to have been secretly working as a spy throughout, and a key document hinting at his true identity is subtly shown to the viewers in one scene.
Jack expressed it as, “To us, it seemed almost like an amusing embellishment, but in reality, Eugene was always this character.” Meanwhile, Harry agreed that they found it appealing to imagine Eugene never learning about his true past.

In other words, Jack expressed that for the third season, he’d like to include Dornan since he’s exceptional and our favorite cast member, and Danielle Macdonald is equally impressive. It was a blast working with them. However, it might be challenging, but if he’s up for it, we’re ready to give it a shot.
Previously, Dornan expressed his thoughts about the potential third season, suggesting that it might take place in the Netherlands, given that season two ended with Eugene moving to Amsterdam alongside Helen Chambers (Macdonald).
The Tourist is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
