BBC Scotland’s head of commissioning, Louise Thornton, mentioned that the upcoming series will present Scotland in a fresh and unique manner, offering a glimpse into the glamorous, fast-paced legal scene of Glasgow.
She expressed her joy over the blossoming collaboration between Scottish authors, anticipating that the captivating dramatic scenarios and complex toxic dynamics among characters, as they navigate the system from within, will be appreciated by the audience.
According to BBC Drama’s Director, Lindsay Salt, Thornton described “Counsels” as a swift-moving ensemble drama. She added that the personal struggles happening outside the courtroom are equally significant as what transpires within it.
Counsels represents a fresh take on the legal drama genre, skillfully blending intriguing characterizations with nail-biting narratives that promise to captivate BBC audiences.” The speaker then commented further.
Additionally, it was disclosed that the pair delved deeply into Glasgow’s legal field for research purposes, as they were creating the series.
