Fans left shocked as Robert Irwin’s secret name revealed in resurfaced home video
As a dedicated follower of the Irwin family and someone who has grown up alongside them through their captivating wildlife adventures, this video brings back a flood of memories. The moment Bindi met her little brother Robert for the first time is a heartwarming testament to the bond between siblings and the unforgettable charm of the Irwin family dynamic.
Fans of the Irwins are taken aback after an unexpected disclosure from an old home video featuring the renowned family resurfaces.
A video, recently posted on The Female Quotient’s Instagram account, captures the heartwarming moment when Bindi Irwin, then five years old, met her newborn brother, Robert, for the first time, which happened way back in 2003.
In the video, it was Steve, her deceased father, who presented Bindi with the newest family member. However, contrary to what Steve and their mother, Terri, had chosen, Bindi’s big sister opted for a distinct name when naming the newborn brother.
‘I think by the way he is, I’ll call him Brian,’ Bindi announced in the video.
‘His name’s Robert,’ Steve told his daughter.
Unfazed, Bindi announced, “I’ll refer to him as Brian shorty,” to which Steve eventually agreed, saying, “Alright.
‘How do you know it’s a boy?’ Bindi asked Steve in another moment from the adorable video.
‘Did you check?’
‘They’re not born with clothes on, Bindi,’ Steve explained to his daughter patiently in the clip.
Currently, fans are asking Bindi Irwin to clarify if the family continues to use Robert’s nickname privately when they are not in public.
One fan inquired, ‘Could you possibly find out if Robert Irwin’s sister still refers to him as Brian?’ when commenting on the Instagram post they saw.
‘Bindi bringing the chaos of well I’M going to call him Brian,’ another added.
A loyal admirer clarified in the comments that her role involved naming the animals at the zoo. Thus, she thought she could name her own brother, making it incredibly endearing.
Today, conservationist Robert Irwin, 20, is one of Australia’s most in-demand media talents.
The beloved TikTok star made a glowing impression on fans when he took over as co-host of Channel Ten’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia alongside longtime presenter Julia Morris, 56.
He nabbed a Gold Logie nomination for his first mainstream TV gig and also currently hosts and fronts a QLD tourism campaign.
On the 4th of September, 2006, Steve ‘The Crocodile Hunter’, at the age of 44, tragically passed away off the coast of Queensland. His death was due to a stingray’s barb piercing his chest during filming of a wildlife documentary.
At the tender age of six, I met an untimely end, whereas my brother, just three months away from turning three, was still too young to understand.
Back in 1970, Bob, Steve’s elderly father (age 85 at the time), was the one who constructed the renowned Queensland zoo from scratch. He later transferred ownership of the zoo to his son, the late Steve, and Terri in 1992.
Throughout his life, Steve was a strong advocate for wildlife preservation, most notably through his popular television program titled “The Crocodile Hunter”.
They continue his lasting impact through their popular wildlife documentary series titled “Crikey! The Irwins”, which premiered in 2018 and is currently airing on the Animal Planet channel.
