Fans left shocked after spotting A-list popstar enjoying a cigarette in Palermo in the background of a TikTok video

On the weekend, people were taken aback when they noticed Dua Lipa sitting casually on a sidewalk in a TikTok video that went viral.

29-year-old singer who is known for her hit “One Kiss,” appeared to have temporarily paused her Radical Optimism World Tour for a relaxing getaway in the beautiful city of Palermo, Sicily.

Across the skinny road, the video captured Dua taking a seat on the sidewalk, unwinding with a glass of wine and a cigarette, enjoying the warm Italian sunlight.

The star appeared lively and cheerful, giggling with the man beside her, who turned out to be her fiancé Callum Turner, aged 35, in a subsequent video.

Dua and Callum were noticed showing affectionate gestures while walking hand-in-hand through the charming city, with the vocalist dressed in a white blouse and denim shorts.

As a lifestyle expert, I must confess that I was equally taken aback when I witnessed the raw, unfiltered footage of the star. The comments section was flooded with astonishment and admiration from fans, as they marveled at the star’s down-to-earth demeanor – a far cry from their glamorous public image.

They posted on TikTok: ‘She’s casually seated on the sidewalk with a glass of wine. Instead of having an exclusive table at upscale eateries, she appears down-to-earth and unpretentious – unlike many celebrities of her stature. I adore her laidback vibe!’

She enjoys an ideal balance of fame. With immense fortune, her likeness graces numerous high-fashion and cosmetic brands worth millions, and she performs in stadiums. However, unlike stars such as Ariana, Taylor, or Beyoncé, she manages to avoid overzealous fans while walking the streets and doesn’t have a significant parasocial fan base following her personally.

But others criticised Dua for smoking, claiming the habit could effect her singing career.

‘They were puzzled as to why people continue to smoke, even at such a young age;’ or ‘They found it perplexing that individuals persist in smoking, especially when they are young.’ Both sentences convey the same meaning as the original, but use slightly different wording to make them easier to read and understand.

The “Radical Optimism” tour, starting in May, has been traveling Dua through Australia and returning her to the United Kingdom. Last month, she performed consecutive concerts at Wembley Stadium in the UK.

The tour resumes at the beginning of August, starting with the Floating artist embarking on the North American segment first, followed by a trip to South America towards the end of the year. The tour ends on December 5 in Mexico City.

In the mean time, Dua has been enjoying some time away from the stage with her fiancé Callum.

Discussing future plans with Callum, she expressed her desire for parenthood someday. However, she finds herself questioning when the perfect timing might present itself, considering factors like her career, potential tours, and the necessary time off.

I believe that some things are simply inevitable and will occur when they are ready, regardless of our plans or expectations. I adore kids, but there’s a lot more to child-rearing than just having affection for them.

Confirming their engagement, Dua said: ‘Yeah we‘re engaged. It’s very exciting.

The choice to age together, to witness life’s journey and essentially, remain the best of friends for eternity – it’s an incredibly unique sensation.
