Fans have been left terrified by Demi Moore’s gory film The Substance – but THIS new movie will leave you scared to even go the cinema
As a seasoned horror aficionado with a knack for the macabre, I must say that Robert Eggers’ upcoming film, “Nosferatu,” has piqued my interest significantly. With a cast boasting the talents of Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, and Simon McBurney, this Gothic horror movie promises to be a chilling addition to the genre.
Audience members are exiting Demi Moore’s latest movie, “The Substance,” within minutes due to its intense graphic nature, claiming that it’s the most graphic film they’ve ever witnessed.
The Goal is to address the challenge posed by unattainable Hollywood beauty ideals, with Demi taking on the character of Elizabeth Shimmer.
Unceremoniously sacked as she hits her 50th birthday, Elisabeth discovers a black-market drug which can create a ‘younger, more beautiful, more perfect’ version of its user – but the drug’s strict conditions are gruesome.
The violence depicted is so intense that movie audiences in both Britain and America are leaving cinemas during screenings because of the excessive bloodshed they witness.
However, although the movie is startling enough to send shivers down the spines of horror enthusiasts, it may be so terrifying that they would hesitate to step foot in a cinema when this new release hits the screens.
In the tradition of her father, Johnny Depp, Lily Rose-Depp takes on a spine-tingling character in the upcoming movie Nosferatu, promising a heart-stopping cinematic experience.
The remake of the 1922 horror movie features Bill Skarsgård in the role of Count Orlok, the vampire, while Johnny Depp takes on the character of Ellen Hutter, the young lady whom Count Orlok becomes obsessed with.
The film’s official trailer was released recently and shows Ellen suffering from a horrific nightmare seemingly about the vampire.
In a trembling voice, filled with fear, Ellen softly pleads, ‘Come to me, come to me’, while salty tears stream down her face. ‘Pay heed to my summons.’
‘Come to me,’ she beckons once more before a hand suddenly appears and menacingly grasps her neck.
She consults with Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, played by Willem Dafoe, during his visit to her bedside in a state of distress.
Ellen leans over to Albin and softly asks, “Professor, my dreams are becoming more ominous. Is it our inner selves that are corrupt, or is the source of this darkness outside of us?
The townsfolk get ready for the imminent arrival of the enigmatic figure, gathering together at night with their pitchforks.
As I, a fervent admirer, tread along the eerily darkened path, it seems that Nicholas Hoult, embodying Thomas Hutter, shares my sense of foreboding, hinting at his own awareness of the impending arrival of this enigmatic creature.
With news of the enigmatic figure’s arrival circulating, the locals assemble under the cover of darkness, armed with pitchforks.
In the spooky finale of the trailer, it seems like we catch a quick peek of the vampire hidden under a dark cloak, just as Albin at last speaks the name everyone has been anticipating.
As I trace my fingers over this enigmatic marking, I can’t help but whisper, “I’m facing Nosferatu.” In my line of work as a lifestyle expert, the supernatural isn’t entirely foreign to me, but this…this is something else.
A synopsis for Nosferatu reveals it is a ‘Gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.’
The rest of the cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, and Simon McBurney.
Robert Eggers, the film’s director, shared with Empire that it is indeed a chilling film, categorizing it as a horror movie. He further emphasized its unique Gothic horror genre and mentioned that he believes there hasn’t been a genuinely terrifying old-school Gothic movie in quite some time.
He continued: ‘And I think that the majority of audiences will find this one to be the case.’
The director, aged 40, enthusiastically praised Lily-Rose, stating she was “truly extraordinary,” and added that this new adaptation of the story is a “more authentic portrayal of Ellen’s experiences” compared to earlier versions.
Eggers pointed out that Bill Skarsgard, the actor behind Lily-Rose’s frightened look, underwent a remarkable change during his performance.
Eggers hinted that there’s a possibility he won’t receive the recognition he truly deserves since he’s not as visible, but he’s deeply respectful of those who have paved the way, and his tribute is quite understated.
He continued: ‘But I think the main thing is that he’s even more a folk vampire. In my opinion he looks like a dead Transylvanian nobleman, and in a way that we’ve never actually seen what an actual dead Transylvanian nobleman would look like and be dressed like.’
Nosferatu will be released on December 25, 2024.
