Fans go wild after Cynthia Erivo accidentally reveals major Wicked spoiler
As a dedicated musical theater enthusiast with over two decades of immersion in the world of Broadway, I must say that Cynthia Erivo‘s potential spoiler about the future of Wicked has sent a wave of excitement coursing through my veins! Ever since I first saw the original production of Wicked on stage, I have been captivated by the complex relationship between Elphaba and Glinda, and the prospect of delving deeper into their lives post-Wicked Part Two is absolutely enthralling.
It’s possible that Cynthia Erivo, the talented actress, may have accidentally revealed some significant information about the upcoming chapter of the popular musical film series.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to be embodying the character of Elphaba in the upcoming movie adaptation, which is inspired by the 1995 novel “Wicked” by Gregory Maguire. This story later evolved into the critically acclaimed Broadway musical in 2003.
The movie has been divided into two separate installments to fully encompass the narrative’s breadth, and the second part, titled “Wicked Part 2”, is scheduled for release in November 2025.
During the Los Angeles premiere of the movie on Saturday, Cynthia was asked about the possibility of a third film, and that’s when she accidentally revealed a possible spoiler.
She implied that the third film could depict what happened in Glinda’s life following that significant event, while also showing us what transpired for Elphaba and Fiyero afterward, as suggested in part 2.
Noticing a possible overshare, Cynthia swiftly clarified, ‘However, it remains uncertain whether Elphaba and Fiyero have a life beyond part two, so we’ll find out soon enough.’
In the novel “Wicked”, characters Elphaba and Fiyero meet their demise at the story’s conclusion, whereas in the musical adaptation, it is Elphaba who continues to live, and Fiyero transforms into a scarecrow instead.
Cynthia’s disclosure suggests that the upcoming movie might be adhering more closely to the storyline of the musical rather than the book’s narrative.
On social media, fans are buzzing about the video, with one commenting, ‘She managed to correct her error at the last moment!’
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over the fact that the recording of the Broadway musical Wicked has taken approximately a whole year! The main filming commenced right in December 2022, straight in the heart of England. I simply can’t wait to see it unfold on the big screen!
Initially, film director John M. Chu paused production in July 2023 due to a SAG-AFTRA strike. However, he resumed work following the winter holidays of that year, and ultimately completed the project in January 2024.
In my expert opinion on all things lifestyle, I’d like to share some insights about an intriguing tale – “Wicked”. This captivating story takes us behind the curtain, offering a compelling prequel to the beloved classic “The Wizard of Oz”. Instead of starting with Dorothy’s adventure, we delve deep into the narrative that unfolds before her arrival. Here, we explore the complex relationship between two central characters – Elphaba and Glinda – who, later in life, would become the Green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North, respectively.

In a miscarriage of justice, Elphaba is falsely portrayed as an evil sorceress when in reality, she’s on a mission to unveil the deceitful and tyrannical ruler hidden behind the facade of the powerful Wizard governing the realm.
In addition to Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Michelle Yeoh, the film’s ensemble also features Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Keala Settle, Peter Dinklage, Aaron Teoh, Grecia de la Paz, Colin Michael Carmichael, Adam James, and Andy Nyman.
In the United States, the first part of the movie “Wicked” is set to be released on November 22 this year. The second part, titled “Wicked: Part Two,” will follow a year later, with its premiere taking place in cinemas on November 21, 2025.
