Fans go into meltdown as viral post reveals how celebrities from different generations looked at the same age

A popular social media post comparing photos of celebrities at the same age has sparked a huge reaction from fans.

A recent post highlighted the youthful appearance of Cole Sprouse, 33, and compared him to a photo of Steve Martin, now 80, at age 33 – noting that Martin looked significantly older at that time.

Kelsey Grammer, at 70, looks quite different from the 27-year-old Dacre Montgomery, who has a much younger appearance.

When Tom Selleck was 29, he appeared noticeably older than Tom Holland does at that same age.

People have noticed that millennials appear to be aging more slowly than previous generations like baby boomers, likely because they generally have healthier lifestyles with less smoking and drinking, and better diets.

I saw the funniest things on Instagram today! Everyone’s joking that turning 30 feels ancient, especially when you look at someone like Thomas Brodie-Sangster – seriously, he hasn’t aged a day since he was a kid! It’s like, that’s why we all thought 30 was so old growing up!

People often wonder why older generations appear so different. It’s likely due to factors like less smoking and alcohol consumption, combined with improved diets and overall physical fitness.

‘Was something in the water back then or??? Because bruhhh.’

Tom Selleck and Tom Holland (29)

Another actor with a striking baby-face is Zendaya’s fiancée Tom Holland.

The popular British actor, age 29, first became well-known for his roles as Peter Parker in the films Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far from Home.

Variety reported last year that he was considered for the role of James Bond, a choice that surprised many of his fans.

Okay, look, I love Tom Holland, seriously, but everyone’s saying he’s just…too cute to be James Bond! Someone online actually said casting him would be like turning James Bond into a movie for kids, and honestly? It kind of stung, even though I get what they mean. He’s amazing, but Bond needs a certain…edge, you know?

It’s remarkable how young Tom still looks – one fan said he ‘could pass for a high school senior’ – especially considering he’s 29. Compared to other famous actors at that age in the past, he really appears to be aging gracefully.

Consider Tom Selleck, the famous American actor who is now 81. Interestingly, he appeared much older than his age—even before his famous moustache—as he approached his 30s.

Oh my gosh, before he was the dreamy Thomas Magnum with those incredible curls, or even the slightly-too-good-to-be-true Richard Burke on Friends, Tom Selleck was everywhere in the seventies! Seriously, he was popping up in all sorts of TV shows and movies back then – a total heartthrob even before he became a superstar, and totally clean-shaven, can you believe it?! I’ve been tracking his career since the beginning, and it’s amazing to see how far he’s come!

You know, it’s funny – people often think losing a beard would make someone look younger, but that just wasn’t the case with Tom Selleck. Even when he was only 29, he had this naturally mature, rugged look that made him seem much older than his years. It was just part of his charm, really!

Jonathan Banks and Thomas Brodie-Sangster (35)

As someone who’s seen a lot of changes over the years, I can definitely relate to Jonathan Banks’ experience with hair loss. He actually had a really full head of hair when he was younger, but unfortunately, it started to thin and recede quite early on, eventually leading to baldness. It’s a common thing, and it just shows how natural changes happen as we age.

Unlike Thomas Brodie-Sangster’s baby-faced appearance, Jonathan looked far older in his thirties.

As a lifestyle observer, it’s amazing to think about how many of us have literally watched Thomas grow up! For those who remember, he was absolutely adorable in films like Love Actually and Nanny McPhee, and now, at 35, it’s incredible to see all he’s accomplished.

Thomas has forever kept his youthful appearance, opting for a clean shaven look.

The popular actor looks almost the same as he did when he started acting at age eleven.

He once revealed the reason for his youthful appearance in an interview, explaining that it’s simply due to his genetics.

He said people have always guessed his age to be three or four years younger than it really is, and he isn’t sure why. It just seems to be a natural thing for him.

‘To me, I just look like me. People always ask me that.’

Steve Martin and Cole Sprouse (33)

Even when he was 33, Steve Martin, who is now 80, appeared older than Cole Sprouse did at that age.

Cole has a bit of facial hair and long blond hair, while Steve started getting grey hairs relatively early, in his thirties.

A fan was surprised by how much the two people’s appearances changed over time, even though they were the same age.

One Instagram user playfully noted that Steve Martin seems to be aging in reverse, appearing much younger than his years, while others seem to be aging much faster than expected.

Steve, famous for his work in shows like Only Murders In The Building and the movie Father Of The Bride, is instantly recognizable for his strikingly white hair.

I’ve been a fan of Cole and Dylan Sprouse ever since I was a kid watching Disney Channel! Everyone just adored them – they were famous for those sweet, innocent faces of theirs.

Laurence Fishburne and Michael B. Jordan (38)

People were confused by the comparison between Laurence Fishburne and Michael B. Jordan.

Aged 38, Michael appeared much more youthful while Laurence looked like he was in his near fifties.

Now 64, Laurence is completely bald and continues to star in much-loved programmes.

Michael’s new film, Sinners, has received numerous Oscar nominations, including recognition for its cast, visuals (cinematography and visual effects), makeup and hair, music, sound, and overall production design.

Ryan Coogler’s highly praised vampire movie, featuring Michael in a dual role as twins, earned $368 million worldwide.

Kelsey Grammer and Dacre Montgomery (27)

Kelsey Grammer, at 70, looked very different from the 27-year-old Dacre Montgomery. Grammer appeared much older, while Montgomery had a youthful appearance.

People were surprised to see Kelsey’s age in the photo, noting that at 27, he looked significantly older than the Australian actor.

Now 31, Dacre still looks age-defying with his rugged beard and smooth complexion.

Dacre Montgomery first gained recognition playing Billy Hargrove in the second season of the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things, which also stars Winona Ryder and Millie Bobby Brown. He joined the cast in 2017.

Last year, Dacre revealed why he stepped out of the spotlight after finding success in Hollywood.

The Perth-born actor spoke with The Australian, discussing his retreat from stardom.

He believes things are different now. In the past, Hollywood stars thrived on an air of mystery, but social media has eliminated that. He feels this is a major reason why he stepped away from public life for the last five years.

He explained that he wasn’t focused on comparing himself to others, but rather on being authentic and, ideally, earning enough to cover his expenses while doing so.

Dacre explained that he invests a lot of himself emotionally in each acting role, which is a major reason he’s been taking breaks. He’s been doing some thinking about his career goals and wants to be more selective about the projects he chooses and have more say in his work.
