Fans call for The Block to be axed after two homes fail to sell in disastrous auction: ‘Cancel the next season’

After a particularly dramatic finale on Sunday, many viewers are now asking for the show ‘The Block’ to be cancelled.

Although five homes were up for auction, only three actually sold to the highest bidders on what was a stressful day.

Following the poor results at auction, viewers are now asking Channel Nine to cancel the renovation show.

One person posted on X, saying they found the situation funny. They noted that after repeatedly asking, the show finally delivered something, but it was too late – it should be cancelled. They felt ‘The Block’ had gone completely off track.

‘Perhaps this is the season where The Block ends. These auctions feels forced,’ one added.

Many viewers are glad to see the current season of #TheBlock coming to an end, hoping the show will return to its roots as a renovation program focused on more realistic and affordable projects, rather than these overly extravagant builds.

One viewer expressed their disappointment online, noting that the recent auctions weren’t successful and that the show ‘The Block’ seems to be losing popularity. They shared this observation with the hashtag #theblockau.

Someone commented that the auctions seem to get more problematic each year. They believe the show would have been cancelled long ago if not for the contributions of Danny and Adrian.

One viewer strongly suggested cancelling the next season of The Block, calling it “the worst show in the world” and saying it should have been cancelled a long time ago.

One viewer expressed disappointment with the finale of ‘The Block,’ calling it unexciting and a letdown. They said they wouldn’t watch again. #TheBlock

Even though the houses were more expensive than most in the area, three out of the five homes sold at auction to winning bidders after a tense day.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Britt and Taz from WA just absolutely smashed it! They sold their incredible House 3 for a whopping $3.41 million – it was the highest sale of the day, seriously! I knew that house was special, and everyone else finally saw it too! I’m so thrilled for them!

The winning team received $520,000 after starting with a $2.99 million reserve, including a $420,000 prize and a $100,000 bonus.

But it all went downhill from there.

Adrian Portelli, who previously bid on the serial block, didn’t participate this time. An anonymous phone bidder ultimately won, after competing with Melbourne businessman and tech entrepreneur Danny Wallis.

Robby and Mat, a pair of home renovators, recently sold their property in South Australia for $3.099 million. After expenses, they made a profit of just $109,999.

The group was really upset with how little money they won, and now they have to share it.

Sonny and Alicia recently sold their house for $3.06 million, which was $120,000 more than the minimum price they were willing to accept.

Despite the small yield, the couple were happy with the result.

Despite the overall success, some sellers weren’t so lucky. Emma and Ben, as well as Han and Can, didn’t receive enough bids or interest to sell their properties.

Emma and Ben were devastated when their house failed to sell at auction. Despite bids reaching $3.1 million, no one was willing to meet their minimum price of $2.99 million, and the property was passed in.

Han and Can weren’t able to sell their house either, leaving the women devastated that they were leaving the show without earning any money.
