Falcons vs PARAVISION at CS2 Bounty Winter 2026: Grand final

Falcons won again against Vitality at this recent BLAST event. Now, they have a chance to win their first major championship in Counter-Strike 2. They’ll be facing PARAVISION in the finals, and while it looks promising for Falcons, PARAVISION has already proven they can beat tough opponents.

The first major Counter-Strike 2 tournament of 2026 delivered some exciting results. The biggest surprise was PARAVISION making it all the way to the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 grand final, where they will compete against Falcons for the championship.

Several strong teams were surprisingly eliminated during the initial qualifying rounds. Other highly-ranked players didn’t perform as well as expected. The map Anubis made its professional debut after being added back to the officially played map pool.

Team Falcons: Bitter twists but good results

The start of the Counter-Strike 2 season in 2026 wasn’t ideal for Falcons. They had to make some unexpected roster changes right before the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 LAN Finals.

  • Matej “Nucleonz” Trajkoski joined the active roster instead of Maksim “kyousuke” Lukinc — because of visa issues.
  • The coach, Danny “zonic” Sørensen, couldn’t lead his boys in the Playoff matches and was replaced by the assistant coach Aymein “Aymeinstein” Bencheikh. It was revealed by zonic that he left for the funeral of his brother.

I was really impressed with Team Falcons at BLAST Bounty Winter 2026! They had a solid run through the online qualifiers, beating both ECSTATIC and Monte – honestly, that’s what I expected from them. Although, it was pretty surprising to see Monte knock out NAVI right off the bat, so they definitely proved they could cause some trouble!

Because of how the Bounty tournament is structured, Falcons faced weaker teams in the quarterfinals. They won against Team Liquid 2-0, which included a close 16-14 victory on the map Nuke that went into overtime.

Falcons’ most significant accomplishment at BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1 was defeating Team Vitality. They had previously beaten Vitality at BLAST Rivalry 2025 in Hong Kong, and they managed to repeat that victory.

Vitality narrowly defeated their opponents 13-6 on the map Anubis, but ultimately, Falcons advanced to the grand final.

PARAVISION: Strengthened by zweih

The team showed strong performance at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 and has been even more successful this year. A key change for this season is the addition of Ivan “zweih” Gogin to the PARAVISION lineup, following his time with Team Spirit.

Because PARAVISION had a lower seeding in the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 tournament, they got to select their opponents each round. In the online qualifier, they chose to play against ENCE and Astralis, which were considered relatively safe matchups given the other strong teams available.

I was so hyped when PARAVISION made it to the LAN Finals! Everyone, including the betting sites, thought they’d lose in the quarters, but they totally proved everyone wrong! It was amazing to watch.

  • PARAVISION defeated Spirit with a 2:1. That was an epic match, as zweih helped take down his former team.
  • In the semifinal, PARAVISION faced FURIA. These opponents had great results in the second half of 2025, including their victory at BLAST Rivals Fall. Still, FURIA couldn’t take even one map this time.

Even if they don’t win, making it to the final round would still be a fantastic achievement for PARAVISION in the Bounty Season 1 event. It will be interesting to see how they perform in future major CS2 tournaments to determine if their current success is sustainable or just a lucky start.

For example, PARAVISION have qualified for the online stage of ESL Pro League Season 23.

A shaky start for big teams

Okay, so the first CS2 tournament of 2026 isn’t the big one, it started with online qualifiers, but it was still really cool to get a first look at how the top teams are shaping up. It’s a long road to the Cologne Major later this year, and this gave us a good idea of who’s looking strong right now.

Both NAVI and FaZe Clan had a rough showing, letting down their fans and likely not meeting their own expectations. Losses against Monte and EYEBALLER are definitely concerning.

Team Vitality performed well in the tournament, though they didn’t make it to the final. This came right before their impressive victory at the Budapest Major, proving they remain a top contender in CS2 esports!

FURIA defeated 9ine, FUT, and HEROIC, but lost to PARAVISION. Despite aiming to compete at a major championship, their performance at the Bounty Winter 2026 event wasn’t impressive.

Anubis in play

A new update for Counter-Strike 2, called the Premier Season 4 patch, arrived just before the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1 LAN Finals. This update, which included changes to the maps played in competitive matches, was quickly used in online qualifying rounds. Notably, Anubis replaced Train as one of the available maps, and we saw it played in matches featuring teams like FURIA, Vitality, and PARAVISION.

  • Ahead of the grand final during the Playoffs, Anubis was left as a decider in the match FURIA vs Liquid. Vitality defeated Falcons on Anubis, but that was their only map win in the semifinal.

The next major Counter-Strike 2 tournament kicks off in just a few days, right after the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 final. Everyone is excited for the first in-person event with playoff matches and a live audience! IEM Krakow 2026 runs from January 28th to February 8th, and it’s a chance to see the best teams compete after a brief practice period.
