Face to Face with Scott Peterson is the killer POV documentary no one asked for

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating through the twisted labyrinth of true crime documentaries, I find myself at a crossroads with the latest release, “Face to Face with Scott Peterson.” Frankly, it feels like a detour on the path of justice.

Previously this month, Netflix debuted the true crime documentary “American Murder: Laci Peterson“. Now, on Tuesday, August 20th, NBC’s streaming platform Peacock premiered the three-part docuseries “Face to Face with Scott Peterson“. This new production revisits the murder of Laci Peterson and her unborn son, providing a perspective from the killer, her husband Scott Peterson. It goes without saying that this is a documentary many people could have done without. And it seems incredibly unnecessary.

Approximately two decades ago, Scott Peterson was found guilty of murdering his wife Laci Peterson, who was carrying their unborn child. Following the discovery of extensive proof against him, he was given a death sentence in 2004. This verdict was overturned by the California Supreme Court in 2020. Currently, Scott is serving a life term without the chance for parole. Despite this, Scott maintains his innocence and continues to request hearings, re-examination of findings, and presentation of fresh ideas to prove his case.

Title rephrased: “Scott Peterson’s Interview – A Fresh Look”

As a fervent supporter of Scott, I share the same conviction as his family – that he’s innocent. However, to those deeply involved in the case, particularly Laci’s loved ones, this stance is seen as insensitive at best. Over and over again, arguments presented by Scott’s defense team have been proven false or questionable.

If you’re looking for a thorough and in-depth examination of the case, I’d recommend watching “American Murder: Laci Peterson” over “Face to Face with Scott Peterson“. It’s best we avoid giving more focus to this individual, as I hope this isn’t a trend towards producing more true crime documentaries from the perspective of the convicted killers or those closely involved. What are your thoughts on this recent documentary?

If you’re looking for compelling true crime documentaries on Peacock to stream, I’d recommend checking out “Who Killed Robert Wone?”, “The Murder of Gabby Petito: Unraveling Truth from Lies and Social Media,” and “Amber: The Girl Behind the Alert.” What are some of your favorite true crime documentaries?

You can watch the true crime series “American Murder: The Family Next Door” on Netflix, or catch up with “Scott Peterson: An American Murder Mystery” on Peacock.
