Fable Has Been Delayed Until Sometime in 2026

Xbox Game Studios together with developer Playground Games have disclosed that the reboot of the popular game series, Fable, will no longer be released in 2025. Instead, it has been postponed to next year. However, fans can look forward to an exciting experience as they assure us the wait will definitely be worth it.

Initially, let me share that Xbox Game Studios Head, Craig Duncan, expressed great enthusiasm about advancements and where Playground is at, during the most recent episode of the Official Xbox Podcast.

Previously, we had set the release date for Fable as 2025, but we’ve decided to give it a bit more time and it will now be launched in 2026 instead. Duncan emphasized this. Although I understand that this might not be the news everyone wanted, I want to assure you all that it’s absolutely worth the wait.

Duncan subsequently conveyed his firm belief in Playground Studios, creators of the Forza Horizon series, who are utilizing their Horizon experience to bring stunning visuals, “as well as captivating gameplay and British wit,” to their rendition of Albion.

Duncan was clearly thrilled as he exclaimed, “It’s truly the most stunning portrayal of Albion you’ve ever witnessed! I’m genuinely enthusiastic about the projects ahead and the future. Let me make it clear that our actions are always in the interest of enhancing the games and the teams, which ultimately leads to superior games or the finest game experience for the community.

Fable will now be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC sometime in 2026.
