Okay, so F1: The Movie totally blew up this summer, raking in almost $630 million worldwide! It’s now the highest-grossing sports movie ever, and Brad Pitt’s biggest film, period. If you didn’t get a chance to see it in theaters, don’t worry – it’s hitting Apple TV+ just in time for Christmas, which is awesome!
Apple announced that the new movie, *F1: The Movie*, will start streaming on Apple TV+ globally on Friday, December 12th. It’s included with your subscription, but you can also purchase a digital version now from platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV if you want to watch it sooner.

The film centers on Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a once-promising Formula 1 driver whose career was cut short by a near-fatal crash. Thirty years later, his old teammate, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), asks for his help to save their failing Formula 1 team from going under.
Sonny is hesitant, but agrees to one final attempt to reclaim his title as the best. However, he’ll have to team up with ambitious newcomer Joshua Pearce, who is determined to make his own mark and won’t be overshadowed.

Despite the huge success of *F1: The Movie*, it’s still unclear if a sequel will be made. However, director Joseph Kosinski has mentioned he’s already considered the possibility.
He really enjoyed collaborating with the team and building their Formula One team from scratch. He’s eager to see what APXGP and Sonny Hayes do next, noting that Hayes is always looking for new challenges. He thinks Hayes would excel and have fun competing in Baja, a very different type of racing than Formula 1.
