Eyes of Wakanda Release Date Gets Major Change for Black Panther TV Show

The Marvel Animation’s four-episode animated series titled “Eyes of Wakanda,” initially scheduled to debut on Disney+ on August 27, 2025, has been postponed.

The Black Panther prequel series titled “Eyes of Wakanda” has seen multiple release date adjustments since its announcement in December 2023 by Marvel. Initially, a 2024 window was speculated, followed by an August 6, 2025 release date that later got pushed back to August 27, 2025. Now, with August just around the corner, Marvel has made one last alteration to the release date.

What is the new release date for Eyes of Wakanda?

Entertainment Weekly announced that the premiere date for the Marvel animated series “Eyes of Wakanda” has been moved up to Friday, August 1, 2025, which is three-and-a-half weeks earlier than initially planned on Disney+. Furthermore, all four half-hour episodes will be available on the streaming service simultaneously, enabling fans to watch the entire series in one go.

Unlike the previous three Marvel animated shows – What If…?, X-Men ’97, and Spider-Man: Friendly Neighborhood – Eyes of Wakanda is set within the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making its four episodes’ stories part of the live-action Black Panther films. This series, titled a globe-trotting adventure, follows the Hatut Zaraze, valiant Wakandan warriors, as they embark on perilous missions to recover Vibranium artifacts from Wakanda’s adversaries.

In Eyes of Wakanda, actors such as Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Lynn Whitfield, Jona Xiao, and Anika Noni Rose, among others, lend their voices. Xiao has hinted at the vastness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series, stating that it’s not just an extension but a detailed examination of Wakanda’s secrets and history. Through the Hatut Zaraze, viewers will get to see how Wakanda subtly influences world history, which is fascinating. If you enjoy the Dora Milaje, you’ll be captivated by this team of undercover warriors.

Ryan Coogler, the creative mind behind Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2023), is also an executive producer for Eyes of Wakanda. He shares this role with Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, Kalia King, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt.

All four episodes of Eyes of Wakanda drop onto Disney+ on August 1, 2025.
