Production on season seven of Line of Duty has begun, and while fans eagerly await its release, we have a movie recommendation tonight that offers a fresh perspective on DCI Ted Hastings.
The critically acclaimed drama Good Vibrations, set in 1970s Belfast, is now available to stream on the BBC. It stars Adrian Dunbar, known from Line of Duty, and Jodie Whittaker of Doctor Who, and tells the story of record store owner Terri Hooley, who is portrayed by Richard Dormer.
I recently watched Good Vibrations, and it’s a really cool movie! It tells the story of Hooley, a guy who was super important in getting the punk rock scene going in Belfast. The film follows him as he starts a record shop, and then gets into producing records himself. It’s written by Colin Carberry and Glenn Patterson, and directed by Lisa Barros D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn – they did a great job bringing his story to life.

Liam Cunningham, Karl Johnson, Michael Colgan, and Dylan Moran join the cast alongside Dunbar, Whittaker, and Dormer.
If you’re interested in watching, Good Vibrations is currently available on BBC iPlayer. It first aired on BBC Two Sunday night and will stay available for the next 28 days.

I just read a couple of reviews of this film, and they sound amazing! The Irish Times said it’s dedicated to everyone who understands what ‘no surrender’ really means, and they encouraged people to go see it – even with the whole family! Evening Standard thought it was a cheerful and insightful film, full of old footage, though maybe a little long. Sounds like something I definitely need to check out!
