Experience the terrifying trailer for MadS, a film shot in one heart-stopping take

As someone who’s had their fair share of wild nights and questionable decisions, I can’t help but be intrigued by the upcoming French horror film, MadS. The one-take approach and the mysterious drug at its core promise an unrelenting thrill ride that I’m eager to hop on.

It’s widely accepted that using drugs is harmful, but opinions can differ on certain aspects. However, one point that remains undisputed is avoiding unknown substances altogether. If a dealer tells you, “I just supply the goods, I don’t prepare them,” it would be wise to flee without a second thought. Meet Romain, the protagonist of the upcoming French horror film “MadS.” Instead of heeding this sensible warning, Romain decides to try an illegal and enigmatic drug before embarking on a night of wild partying. Unfortunately for him, events soon take a turn for the worse.

On October 18th, you’ll find the edge-of-your-seat experience, MadS, on Shudder. This gritty ride, masterfully directed by writer/director David Moreau (Them), is guaranteed to have no breaks in the action, as it’s shot in a single continuous take. Check out the trailer below.

18-year-old Romain, fresh from graduation, is yearning for a wild night to mark his transition into adulthood. Shortly after consuming a substance, Romain gets behind the wheel of his car to drive to a gathering. However, en route, he spots a woman lying injured on the roadside.

Romain gives the woman a lift, but not much time passes before she becomes violently aggressive and slams her head against the windshield, causing a mortal wound. Now, Romain finds himself in the unsettling position of dealing with her lifeless body. Is this just a bizarre turn of events during a hallucinatory experience? Or is something far more mysterious taking place? The situation only grows stranger from here on out.

Supporters of contemporary New French Extremity films, such as “Raw” and “Climax”, should be aware that “MadS” is a film worth watching as it seems to align perfectly with the genre.

Besides the storyline provided, the trailer suggests a potential escape of the substance from its confinement. Critics have categorized the movie as “outbreak horror,” which implies that the substance might be an experimental one, leading to catastrophic consequences.

There’s also a suitably terrifying poster to go with the trailer.
