Netflix’s latest mystery drama Untamed has received a season 2 order mere weeks after premiering.
Initially marketed as a standalone series, the suspenseful show has surprisingly been given a second season following its impressive debut at the top of various streaming service charts across multiple regions.
Titled characteristically, this series features Eric Bana and Sam Neill, focusing on an investigator from the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch (ISB), as he delves into the mysterious circumstances surrounding a fatality within the breathtaking expanse of Yosemite National Park.
In this scenario, Bana portrays Kyle Turner, a central character who collaborates on investigations alongside Neil’s Paul Souter, the experienced park ranger and a guiding influence, as well as NPS ranger Naya Vasquez, played by Lily Santiago.
The show is coming back for another round, with a fresh enigma to unravel. Bana expressed his excitement about carrying on Kyle’s narrative, as reported by Variety.
The actor expressed great excitement in a statement, saying they were delighted to have another opportunity to breathe life into another season of “Untamed“.
The reaction to Season 1 demonstrates the extraordinary dedication of our team in creating something genuinely distinctive. I’m eagerly anticipating Kyle’s upcoming adventure. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to Netflix, John Wells Productions, Warner Bros. Television, and our loyal fans for their support.
In addition to the main cast, the show features Rosemarie DeWitt portraying Jill Bodwin, who is Kyle’s ex-spouse and a previous educator, as well as Wilson Bethel in the role of Shane Maguire, a park ranger specializing in wildlife management at Yosemite.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the series titled “Untamed” currently holds a “Certified Fresh” status with a critics’ approval rating of 80%, based on 51 reviews. So far, viewers have also expressed positive feedback, rating it at 71%.
In other parts of the streaming platform, the medical series titled “Pulse” and the mystery show set in the White House called “The Residence” were terminated following only a single season.
