New cast photos for anticipated reboot The Forsytes have been unveiled alongside a release window.
The fresh television series, set in London, stars Millie Gibson, previously seen on “Doctor Who,” and is based on John Galsworthy’s novels that revolve around the affluent Forsyte clan.
The Channel 5 series is set to debut this coming fall season, and after an earlier glimpse of Gibson portraying Irene Heron, more glimpses of some of the other main cast members have been unveiled together with additional sneak peeks of both Gibson and Joshua Orpin.
In this ensemble cast, Stephen Moyer from “True Blood” portrays Jolyon Forsyte Sr, Jack Davenport of “The Morning Show” takes on the role of James Forsyte, Danny Griffin from “Fate: The Winx Saga” steps into Jo Forsyte Jr, Tuppence Middleton of “Downton Abbey: A New Era” plays Frances Forsyte, and Eleanor Tomlinson, known for “One Day”, joins as Louisa Byrne.
Previously, viewers had the opportunity to witness Galsworthy’s works brought to life as a television series titled “The Forsyte Saga” on ITV during the early 2000s. This captivating production starred Damian Lewis and Gina McKee and garnered positive reviews from critics.
The reboot focuses on a family that is deeply rooted in customs and social standing. The elders prioritize duty and upholding their reputation over everything, while the younger members challenge the strict traditions they are expected to follow.
The dilemma of who inherits the family business causes tension between Soames Forsyte and his cousin, Jolyon, at a time when both their lives are disrupted by the emergence of two extraordinary females, as suggested in this summary.
In the end, every member of the Forsyte clan faces a similar quandary: Should they let reason guide them or follow their emotions?
Before “The Forsytes” even premieres, it has already been confirmed that there will be a second season. In fact, filming for this new season has already started. Additionally, three new cast members, Richard Rankin, Sarah Alexander, and Nia Ashi, have joined the show.
The Forsytes will air on Channel 5 this autumn.
