The summary for the series titled “Legends” goes like this: “In the early ’90s, the British customs agency was struggling to contain illegal drug trafficking at its borders. An unconventional answer was called for.
In a covert mission, a compact group of Customs officers were discreetly deployed. Their objective was to penetrate some of Britain’s deadliest drug cartels.
However, they weren’t professional spies. Instead, they were everyday people living in the United Kingdom, taken out of their normal lives, given a rudimentary training program, and then assigned to create new personas within the criminal underworld. The personas they created were known as “Legends.
In the first four episodes of “Top Boy”, Brady Hood will be in charge of direction, whereas Julian Holmes, known for his work on “Reacher”, will direct episodes five and six.
In addition to his work on “Legends”, it’s been confirmed that Tom Hughes has been added to the cast of “The Gold” for its second season, joining fellow actors Stephen Campbell Moore and Joshua McGuire.
In the approaching season, we can expect the comeback of Hugh Bonneville and Charlotte Spencer reprising their roles as detectives Brian Boyce and Nicki Jennings. These two officers were instrumental in securing convictions against several individuals linked to the 1983 Brink’s-Mat gold heist and its distribution.
In the second season, they discover that they apprehended just half of the criminal suspects, so they decide to carry on with their probe further.
Legends will stream on Netflix, though a release date is yet to be confirmed.
