I was so thrilled when Mare of Easttown first came out – it was seriously amazing! Even though it was originally meant to be just one season back in 2021, there’s some exciting news! Kate Winslet herself has hinted at when we might see more of it, which is getting me really hopeful for a return to Easttown!
The first season of the police drama, praised as “exceptional” by Film Cred, features Kate Winslet as the main character, Detective Marianne ‘Mare’ Sheehan.
A tough, experienced detective starts looking into an old case when the body of a young mother, Erin McMenamin, is discovered in the woods. As she investigates, she’s also forced to deal with her own personal struggles.

Even though the show solved its main mystery in the first season, viewers wanted to see more of Mare’s story continue.
Kate Winslet initially said she wouldn’t return as Mare, but now a second season seems possible. She’s suggested it could air around 2027.

She recently shared with Deadline that she and the show’s creator, Brad Ingelsby, were discussing when they might be able to start working on another season of Mare of Easttown.
She explained they had real discussions about when this might happen. “I think we’ll likely move forward with it,” she said, adding that it was the first time she’d felt confident about that possibility.
Kate Winslet has shared that a potential second season of Mare of Easttown likely won’t happen until around 2027, meaning fans will have to wait a few years.
Kate Winslet appears in the heartwarming film Goodbye June, a family story featuring a talented cast and also her first time directing.

Kate Winslet, also a producer on the project, plays Julia, one of the children of the main character, who is played by Helen Mirren.
The cast is awesome – you’ve got Timothy Spall, Toni Collette, Andrea Riseborough, and Johnny Flynn all in it! And get this, the script was actually written by Joe Anders, who turns out to be Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes’s son. Small world, right?
Okay, so if you’re in the UK and want to watch Mare of Easttown season one, you can find it on Now. If you’re in the US, it’s over on HBO Max. And for those of you looking for Goodbye June, it’s currently available on Netflix! I just finished both and highly recommend them.
The latest issue of Living Legends magazine is now available, and it’s a special tribute to Dolly Parton! You can find ‘Dolly at 80’ in shops that sell magazines or order it online for only £8.99.
