Ex-MP Lands HUGE Big Brother Deal!
Among the most vibrant legislators gracing Westminster, he frequently finds himself embroiled in various political upheavals, with controversies often surrounding him.
Now, the ex-Conservative politician Sir Michael Fabricant has agreed to participate in Celebrity Big Brother, a show that starts next month on ITV.
It is believed that he has agreed to a financially beneficial contract, worth six figures, to participate following the prohibition of political figures in the broadcaster’s alternative reality show, “I’m A Celebrity.
It has been disclosed that network executives are thrilled about his decision to participate in the reality show, as a source stated, “He isn’t shy, he promises to be addictive television, we can hardly contain our excitement.
‘We wanted a top politician but one with enormous personality which would entertain the viewers.
After losing his position recently, he is now free and ready to join the team. Already, the executives are enthusiastic about him becoming a key player in the series.
Michael stands out immediately and has a knack for saying things that might be incorrect, sparking discussions, and adding an extra dose of excitement within the household.
74-year-old Mr. Fabricant, who served as the MP for Lichfield in Staffordshire from 1992 until his defeat in 2024, also held the position of vice-chairman of the Conservative Party under David Cameron. However, he is arguably most recognized for his distinctive blond hair, a fact that has led to widespread mockery. Yet, he consistently refutes claims that it’s a wig.
Starting from April 7th, Celebrity Big Brother isn’t the first time Richard Fabricant has ventured into reality TV; he previously appeared on a special celebrity episode of Channel 4’s First Dates show, back in 2017 for Stand Up To Cancer.
The MP was spotted going out on a date with 61-year-old fantasy novelist Jan, who promptly commented on his vibrant hairstyle, stating that he believed it was a wig and should be discarded.
‘Aggressive, unpleasant and mean,’ were some of the kinder comments he called Jan.
Mr Fabricant was one of the most controversial politicians in the last Tory government.
2022 saw him facing criticism over a tweet that linked to the apprehension of an MP under accusations of rape and sexual misconduct.
The Tory party leaders instructed an anonymous lawmaker to avoid Parliament while the police investigation is ongoing. However, Mr. Fabricant tweeted that there would be a significant presence of MPs to demonstrate they are not the one who was asked by the chief whip to remain at home – a statement which Angela Rayner, Labour’s deputy leader, deemed inappropriate.

In 2016, he found himself needing to express regret when he exclaimed a strong profanity within the Commons chamber, as lawmakers debated the EU referendum. More recently, during lockdown, his comments about teachers and nurses having “quiet drinks” in their staff rooms drew harsh criticism from many.
At one point, Mr. Fabricant openly admitted that he had utilized recreational drugs known as ‘poppers’ during discussions within the government regarding potential restrictions or bans on these substances as part of their efforts against legal highs.
Mr. Fabricant identifies as bisexual and has previously mentioned that Andy Street, a former Mayor of the West Midlands, holds a special place in his life, often referred to as his “life partner”.
He mentioned that they share a home in Wales since they both enjoy hiking. They often take vacations together, strengthening their already strong bond.
‘But we lead separate lives. If we lived together all the time, I think we’d murder each other.
There seems to be a unique quality about this, although I can’t quite put my finger on it. Perhaps it’s one of those subtle aspects that are hard to define precisely.
Actor Jack P Shepherd from Coronation Street, along with Chris Hughes, a former Love Island contestant, will join Mr Fabricant, as well as some other popular figures, at the start of the event coming up in the next few weeks.
