Ex-Corrie star Georgia May Foote opens up on ‘nightmare’ struggle to find acting work – after hinting at divorce from husband Kris Evans
Actress Georgia May Foote, once a mainstay on Coronation Street, recently shared her challenging journey in locating acting roles following her departure from the soap opera, describing it as a “terrifying ordeal.
34-year-old actress gained notoriety for portraying Katy Armstrong on the ITV series from 2010 to 2015. Tragically, her character was written off-screen in a fatal car accident in 2017.
Since then, she has made appearances on reality television programs like Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Juice, and she played a recurring character in the American fantasy series The Outpost from 2020 to 2021.
In a recent chat, the actress spoke candidly about the slowdown in her work since moving back to the UK from Serbia following the filming of The Outpost. She described this period as the “calmest” or “least busy” phase in her life.
In an episode of Sausage on a Fork podcast, she shared that she returned in December 2020 and suddenly realized, “Wow, there’s no job available here.
Initially, all production in the UK came to a halt, pushing many projects aside, leading to a buildup of shows waiting to begin filming. These delayed productions took approximately four years to be released, and after that, there were writer’s strikes.

Georgia went on saying, “It’s been a complete horror show. That’s why I’ve never been as silent as I am now in my entire life. Many actors across the globe might express the same sentiment.
Beyond her limited experience on-screen, Georgia faced another tragic setback last month as her nail salon went up in flames. She had initially established the business to supplement her income while pursuing acting roles that were hard to come by.
As a die-hard supporter, I found myself compelled to launch a crowdfunding campaign to gather the funds needed for my beloved company, along with others in similar straits, to resume operations.
She remarked about the fire: “In just two hours, the entire structure was ablaze, and it all burned to the ground. We were barred from re-entering, and nothing could be saved.
As a devoted adherent, I find myself in possession of four years’ accumulation of merchandise and inventory – an immense quantity that amounts to several thousand pounds. Resuming my activities requires this essential gear, as replacements are not readily available or affordable.
As a devoted admirer, I’ve taken the initiative to launch a fundraising campaign to gather funds for these extraordinary women. The goal is to help them regain their footing and replenish the inventory we’ve sadly lost, so we can continue our journey together.
The total has surpassed £12,000, and I’m overjoyed! It truly stirs my emotions to discuss this. I can’t help but recognize that for many women, this is a significant portion of their earnings. I consider myself fortunate as I continue to do voiceovers and have upcoming job opportunities coming my way.
While it’s true that I suffered significant financial losses due to that fire, it’s also important to remember that many people lost everything they owned – possessions that can never be replaced – in their homes.

Georgia’s struggles arise following her recent suggestion that she is no longer married to Kris Evans, as indicated by her deletion of all references to him on her social media platforms.
Originally known for her role as Alison Simmons in Grange Hill from 2005 to 2008 (and previously on Corrie), she tied the knot with Kris at a private event in 2023.
It seems as though their relationship might be ending, as they are said to be on the path towards a separation or divorce.
It appears that Georgia and Kris are no longer married, as a source shared with The Sun, and they also mentioned that their relationship is facing difficulties.
It’s claimed Georgia is ‘looking to the future’ amid their marital woes.
Georgia appears to have taken down any images of the musician from her Instagram, as well as removing her wedding ring. This includes photos from their wedding day.
TopMob contacted a representative for Georgia for comment at the time.

In a recent Instagram post, it appeared that Georgia had left off wearing her wedding ring as she took a relaxing spa vacation with her closest companion.
In my post, I proudly displayed my stunning physique in a tiny two-piece swimsuit, and wrote the following caption: “Spending a day brimming with beauty, side by side with my dearest friend on this planet.
In 2023, Georgia got married to Kris in an ornate log cabin setting, dressed in a beautiful fishtail gown adorned with beads.
At the time, Georgia shared a sweet message ahead of her wedding.
Georgia wrote: “I’m getting married soon to my dearest friend, the one who brings out the best in me. I never thought I’d meet someone who loves me genuinely, but here he is.
I’d like to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who came out to support me over the weekend. It was an absolutely fantastic time, and I am eternally thankful for your love and acceptance of me as I am. Here’s to wrapping up the final month as ‘Foote’.
