Ewan McGregor is ready to suit up for a live-action Clone Wars movie

As a seasoned Star Wars fan who grew up with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker’s epic saga, hearing Ewan McGregor express his desire to wear the Clone Wars armor again is like a dream come true! I can almost hear the iconic sound of lightsabers clashing and feel the electrifying energy that comes with witnessing these characters in action.

Following Hayden Christensen donning Anakin Skywalker’s Clone Wars armor in the first season of Ahsoka, Ewan McGregor expressed his delight at the prospect of wearing that armor himself too.

At the LA Comic Con, I excitedly shared my dreams for my character’s future in Star Wars with the enthusiastic crowd. The fans went wild when I mentioned wanting to suit up in the armor we all know from The Clone Wars. Just like many of you, I also hope to bring some of the epic moments from The Clone Wars to life on screen, alongside Hayden Christensen.

Ewan went a step further by proposing the application of de-aging technology for a potential live-action film adaptation of The Clone Wars. His recent comments on Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 have fueled discussions that the season might delve into flashbacks set during the Clone Wars era, potentially including Obi-Wan and Anakin. This idea excites McGregor greatly.

Although neither Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 nor a live-action Clone Wars film has been confirmed yet, production for Ahsoka Season 2 is scheduled for next year. In the first season, Hayden Christensen portrayed Anakin in Clone Wars armor and reconnected with Ahsoka during Clone Wars-era flashbacks. Could there be a chance that McGregor appears in Ahsoka Season 2 for a cameo, bringing together Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan in a live-action flashback?

Regarding Obi-Wan Kenobi, the series included just one flashback scene between Anakin and Obi-Wan, set at the Jedi Temple. Some fans had anticipated seeing Hayden and Ewan in Clone Wars armor during flashback scenes, but maybe that’s a possibility for Season 2. It’s worth mentioning that McGregor served as a producer on Obi-Wan Kenobi and could already be brainstorming potential ideas with Lucasfilm for Season 2. Discussions about Clone Wars flashbacks might indeed be ongoing. For now, let’s keep our fingers crossed until an official announcement is made for Season 2 or a live-action Clone Wars movie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Clone Wars are streaming on Disney+.
