Evil deserves a final season or movie to wrap up the series

As a devoted fan of the genre, I can confidently say that the conclusion of Evil left me with a sense of unfinished business. Four seasons of gripping suspense, spine-chilling horror, and intricate storytelling had led us to this point, only for the series to leave us hanging with more questions than answers.

After four thrilling seasons, I’ve bid farewell to “Evil”. This horror/detective series made a shift from CBS to Paramount+ last year, and it truly elevated. Whether it was the liberation from network TV, new creative minds, or something else, the show shone brighter on Paramount+. However, the series finale left many questions unanswered, which is a bit disappointing.

WARNING! Spoilers for the series finale of Evil ahead

Initially, there’s a group known as The Sixty. These sinister dwellings have devised a method to propagate their malevolence globally. Their intention is to exploit the internet to inject their form of wickedness straight into the human mind. As of now, it’s uncertain if their strategy succeeds, what means they’ll employ, and whether The Sixty themselves are aware or approve of this plan. Some among them appear to abhor the concept, but this could change once they witness the outcomes.

Later on, we find Kristen Bouchard and David Acosta in Italy. However, while there, Kristen becomes concerned that her son, Timothy, might still harbor a trace of the demon within him, potentially making him the Anti-Christ. Instead of sharing this revelation with David, she maintains a facade of everything being alright. It’s uncertain if she keeps quiet to shield Timothy or if she’s somehow influenced by him.

Regarding David, it’s clear his influence didn’t halt any issues within the Catholic Church as wickedness persists within its ranks. It would have been intriguing to witness how he either prevented or failed to prevent the impending apocalypse. Moreover, the subplot of their romantic entanglement between David and another character remains unresolved, mirroring the complex relationship dynamics of Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson.

It seems that the resolution to these questions requires either a new season or an ending film for the series, and this notion isn’t unique to me.

Should anyone be considered an expert on terror, it’s undoubtedly Stephen King. Following the conclusion of “Evil,” the writer himself described it as “intelligent, thought-provoking, and at times, incredibly chilling.” Given that endorsement, it’s clear we could use more. Regrettably, Paramount Television Studios is closing down, implying there will be no further continuation of the series by Paramount. However, there is a silver lining. As previously stated, “Evil” has relocated before, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for its future.

AMC might be the perfect destination for the show “Evil“. They have the capability to create an environment that is as chilling, eerie, and bizarre as required. Shows like “The Walking Dead“, “Preacher“, and “Interview with a Vampire” demonstrate AMC’s prowess in handling horror-themed projects.

I’m wrapping this up with some positive updates! It isn’t necessary for us to have a lengthy season or a perfect conclusion; all we need is just enough to wrap up the story. Four episodes should suffice. If Stephen King manages to bring back the show through his thoughts and tweets, we’ll make sure to share the news with you. Stay tuned!
