Evil Dead Burn is coming in 2026 from Infested director Sébastien Vaniček

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for horror movies, especially those from the Evil Dead franchise, I can hardly contain my excitement! The upcoming films, particularly Evil Dead Burn and the untitled project by Francis Gallupi, promise to rekindle the terror that has long captivated me.

Fans of “Evil Dead” can anticipate exciting developments in the upcoming years, as the series derived from Sam Raimi’s 1981 movie keeps growing and changing.

Sebastian Vaniček, a renowned French filmmaker, recently gave an enticing glimpse into the upcoming movie in the series, now titled “Evil Dead Burn“. Vaniček shared a picture of the screenplay’s first page on his social media platforms to spark anticipation for the next instalment. Collaborating with Florent Bernard, he has co-written the script.

Earlier, Lee Cronin penned and helmed the blockbuster movie “Evil Dead Rise,” released in 2023. In this film, Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan portray sisters who find themselves fighting against the Deadites when their children accidentally summon them using the ominous Necronomicon, not realizing the true nature of the book.

The horror film titled “Evil Dead Rise” was a box office hit, amassing over $147 million and garnering positive reviews from critics. In essence, Cronin’s movie seemed like a revitalizing re-launch for the established franchise that hadn’t seen a new installment since the 2013 remake.

According to reports, Vaniček impressed Sam Raimi with his chilling horror film “Infested”, which was released on Shudder this year. Impressed by the director’s work, Raimi personally selected him to direct a new installment of “Evil Dead”. There’s no higher compliment than that!

Apart from “Evil Dead Burns”, another “Evil Dead” movie is in the pipeline, this time directed by Francis Gallupi, known for “The Last Stop in Yuma County”. Gallupi will pen and direct this upcoming film for Sam Raimi’s production company, Ghost House Pictures. At present, plot details for both films are being kept confidential.

As a die-hard Evil Dead fan, I’ve missed the big-screen action these past years, but boy, did Starz’s Ash vs. Evil Dead television series bring back memories! It had my hero, Bruce Campbell, reprising his iconic role as Ash Williams from the original franchise. Fast forward to 2022, an Evil Dead multiplayer survival horror game dropped, and while it got mixed responses, I jumped right in, only to find out that support was axed soon after its launch.
