Everything you need to watch Dexter: Original Sin tonight!

As a seasoned gamer and television enthusiast with over two decades of watching Dexter’s dark antics, I must say, I am both excited and apprehensive about the upcoming prequel series, “Dexter: Original Sin.” Having witnessed Michael C. Hall’s masterful portrayal of Dexter Morgan, it’s hard not to feel a pang of nostalgia as I welcome Patrick Gibson into the role. But alas, the journey must continue, and I am eager to see how young Dexter navigates his dark urges.

Get ready to revisit the world of our beloved antihero, Dexter Morgan, the avenging serial killer, but this time you might notice some changes. The upcoming prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, won’t feature Michael C. Hall as the main character, however, Hall will reprise his role by providing the narration for Dexter’s inner thoughts.

In regards to the character of young Dexter, it will be portrayed by the actor Patrick Gibson, who is well-known for his role in “Shadow and Bone”. Meanwhile, Christian Slater has been chosen to play his father and guide, Harry Morgan.

After three years since the series “Dexter: New Blood” premiered, it’s likely that many fans are anxious to revisit this universe. One aspect that makes this intriguing is the knowledge that Dexter won’t meet his demise (or end up as a lumberjack). The advantage and disadvantage of a prequel lies in knowing the destination, but not detracting from the pleasure derived from the journey.

As a gamer, here I am, eager to dive into the world of “Dexter: Original Sin”. To do so, I’ve got to be ready with my Paramount+ account, but it’s not just any regular plan. I need one that includes Showtime, as it seems that particular series is only available in a package deal. If I haven’t already got the Showtime subscription on my Paramount+, then I’ll either have to create a new account or upgrade the current one to enjoy this gripping show.

  • Paramount+ with Showtime cost $12.99/month vs. $7.99/month for Paramount Essential

You can now stream the very first episode of “Dexter: Original Sin” on Paramount+, offering a preview for Showtime subscribers.

You’ll need to be patient until Sunday to catch the series premiere on Showtime, airing at 10 p.m. ET. Don’t forget to tune in! The first episode presents a young Dexter, played by Molly Brown, who is grappling with his inner darkness while residing with his father and teenage sister Deb.

Given the pattern in which Paramount+ and Showtime have aired previous series like “Yellowjackets” Season 2, it is likely that new episodes of Dexter: Original Sin will be available for early viewing every Friday. However, those who only receive Showtime through their TV provider may need to wait until Sunday nights for the broadcast.

Episode schedule for initial Paramount+ with Showtime streaming dates

  • Episode 101: “Original Sin,” Dec. 13
  • Episode 102: “Kid in a Candy Store,” Dec. 20
  • Episode 103: “Miami Vice,” Dec. 27
  • Episode 104: “Fender Bender,” Jan. 3
  • Episode 105: “F is for F*ck-Up,” Jan. 10
  • Episode 106: “The Joy of Killing,” Jan. 17

  • Episode 108: “Business and Pleasure,” Jan. 31
