Everything you missed from the Dark Horse Comics panel at NYCC 2024
As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast who’s spent more time than I’d care to admit poring over every nook and cranny of the galaxy far, far away, this New York Comic Con was nothing short of a dream come true! The Lucasfilm Publishing’s Dark Horse Comics panel was the highlight of my weekend.
The New York Comic Con has wrapped up, but don’t worry if you weren’t able to attend. Here’s a rundown of all the updates shared during the Lucasfilm Publishing’s Dark Horse Comics panel. If you’re curious about what transpired at the Marvel Comics and book panel, we’ve got you covered right here!
The High Republic
At the recent panel, the Adventures series within the The High Republic line was the main topic as we approach the end of its multimedia project with Phase III. Expanding upon the teaser from the previous Marvel Comics discussion, issues 14-17 will feature a stunning connected cover for the epic Battle of Eriadu.
Previewing an exciting upcoming special issue titled “The High Republic Adventures – Wedding Spectacular“, featuring the nuptials of Lula Talisola and Zeen Mrala. StarWars.com has given us a sneak peek at the guest list, which seems to include just about every character from the comic book series. The cover art for this comic is equally impressive, with renowned designer Cherriielle creating stunning wedding gowns for the couple.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share some exclusive insights about the upcoming tales in The High Republic saga! Recently, I was fortunate enough to get an early look at the next issue of Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone, where we caught up with Ty Yorrick and her trainee-like partner. In this issue, we’ll learn that Alyssa Wong will be writing the one-shot comic, Battle of Eriadu.
Adventures in the Republic
In the timeframe of the Republic, numerous novels were unveiled, some taking place during or preceding the occurrences depicted in The Clone Wars. Additionally, we’ve had a sneak peek at the cover for an upcoming book!
The Bad Batch: Secret Agents
In addition, Dark Horse unveiled not one but two upcoming graphic novels within the Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories collection. One focuses on General Grievous, while the other centers around Mace Windu. And as an added bonus, we were given a sneak peek at their cover art as well!
10 Years of The Force Awakens
As a dedicated Star Wars fan, I was blown away when Ethan Sacks unexpectedly took over the panel! To commemorate the 10-year anniversary of The Force Awakens, he’s spearheading a Poe Dameron mini-series. Before the movie’s events unfold, our fearless pilot is reunited with his trusty sidekick BB-8 for a thrilling journey. Here’s hoping we catch some nods to Star Wars Resistance in this comic!
