Everything we know about Pokémon Champions
Prepare for the debut of Pokémon Champions, an exciting new stadium-fighting game, unveiled during the Pokémon Presents in February.
In the Pokémon Presentation held in February 2025, we weren’t left feeling let down. The event unveiled exciting news about a new game, titled Pokémon Champions. Picture it as a contemporary take on Pokémon Stadium, offering a fresh gaming experience.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the new game I’ve been eagerly anticipating is currently being developed, though its rating is yet to be determined. However, what we do know is that it’s coming to Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android platforms. This means trainers from every corner of the globe will have the chance to engage in epic stadium battles, making this game a truly global event!
Let’s go over everything we know about it so far.
Everything revealed about Pokémon Champions during Pokémon Presents
The trailer opened as two youths engaged in play on their Game Boys. They were engaged in Pokemon combat using a link cable, which evoked nostalgia for past times and the traditional method trainers employed to fight and exchange their Pokemon with peers.
Transition to Pokémon Stadium on the Nintendo 64, progressing over time with evolutions through systems like the Wii, the 3DS, and most recently, the Switch. Finally, the grand unveiling displays an individual engrossed in playing Pokémon Champions on their mobile device, out in public.
What Pokémon were shown?
It seems they are using modern Pokémon in their matchup. One trainer uses Aegislash and Dondozo, while the other employs Charizard and Hisuian Samurott. This is a traditional double battle, similar to those held in official Pokémon battling tournaments.
Towards the closing moments of the trailer, a trainer unleashes Mega Charizard X after transforming it from its normal form. Another trainer initiates Terastallization with Dodonzo. This raises questions about whether Dynamax could be a part of the battle mechanics as well; we’ll find out soon enough.
Who is developing Pokémon Champions?
During the Pokémon Presents, it was officially announced that Game Freak is responsible for developing this upcoming game, as they are in charge of its planning.
Developmentally speaking, it’s The Pokémon Company that’s taking charge. They are responsible for both Pokémon HOME and Pokémon Sleep projects.
Pokémon Home integration
As a devoted Pokémon enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the news regarding Pokémon HOME! It was officially announced that Pokémon Champions can sync up with this application. During the showcase, they revealed an exciting feature – you can transfer your trusted companions from HOME directly into Champions!
As a devoted enthusiast, I must clarify that not every Pokémon will be at your disposal. The ones you manage to capture can’t be immediately transferred from Pokémon Champions to your HOME account.
