Have you believed that Apple TV+ has run out of highly anticipated series for this year? Well, there’s one highly-anticipated production that fans are eagerly waiting to see, and it is set to arrive within a few months. We’re referring to Alfonso Cuaron’s Disclaimer.
In case you haven’t heard yet, let me catch you up on all the details! Here’s a rundown of the cast, plot summary, number of episodes, and other relevant information about the upcoming series “Disclaimer” that will premiere on Apple TV+ this autumn.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Cate Blanchett is going to be in “Disclaimer,” a gripping mystery-thriller directed by Alfonso Cuaron. Known for masterpieces like “Roma,” “Gravity,” and “Children of Men,” Cuaron is no stranger to creating captivating stories. This seven-episode psychological thriller will only be available on Apple TV+, a platform that’s been delivering top-notch content lately.
Synopsis and cast
The narrative derives from Renee Knight’s identical titled novel, where actress Blanchett portrays Catherine Ravenscroft, a well-respected journalist hiding a troubled past. Interestingly, she spends her career exposing the wrongdoings of others, as Apple TV+ reveals.
In an unexpected turn of events, a novel written by an anonymous author, Stephen Brigstocke (played by Kevin Kline), unearths a past Catherine had believed remained hidden. This writer seems vengeful towards Catherine, but the reason behind this animosity isn’t immediately clear. It could be something Catherine wrote about in the past that angered this author. The novel’s synopsis hints at Catherine’s shock as she finds herself at the center of a story that reveals her secrets. Given that Catherine wants to keep these aspects of her life private, it seems unlikely she will openly acknowledge her connection to this book. First, she needs to discover the true identity of this author before her personal life and marriage are compromised.
To discover additional information, make sure to catch up with it! Since the film version isn’t simply a word-for-word reproduction of the book, be prepared for some unexpected twists.
Besides Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, the show will feature Sacha Baron Cohen portraying Robert, Catherine’s spouse, and Kodi Smit-McPhee taking on the role of their son, Nicholas. The ensemble also includes Lesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, Hoyeon, and Indira Varma, who will serve as the narrator for the series.
