For beginners unfamiliar with Call of Duty series, “Prestige” is a feature that becomes accessible once you reach the highest player level (level 55). Selecting “Prestige” will reset your character’s progress back to level 1, but you’ll be rewarded with some attractive perks in return.

In this write-up, we delve into the updated Prestige system featured in Black Ops 6, as claimed by Activision to be the most gratifying rendition of Prestige that the Call of Duty franchise has offered so far.

How to unlock Prestige in Blacks Ops 6

To unlock Prestige, you must climb all the way to Level 55 (Commander) in Black Ops 6. Once you get there, access the “Barracks” tab, press the “Progression” button, and choose the “Prestige 1” option.

What happens when I go Prestige in Black Ops 6?

• You will reset to Player Level 1 (Private I).
• All Level Unlocks will be relocked and must be unlocked again, except for Base Operators, Emotes, and Zombies GobbleGums, as well as anything you Permanently Unlock.
• Your Loadouts will be reset.
• Lifetime stats will remain viewable in the Combat Record, but your stats elsewhere in the game will only show stats for your current Prestige.

While this seems like losing a lot in Black Ops 6, you’ll still keep all the following:

• Weapon Progression, Camos, and Reticles.
• Weapon Builds. Your favorite Weapon may be relocked, but all of the Weapon Builds you’ve created for it will be waiting for you when you reach the level needed to unlock it again.
• Challenge Progress and Unlocks.
• Store and Battle Pass content.
• Operator and Emote Unlocks.
• Zombies GobbleGums.
• Any item you have a Blueprint or Skin for will remain Permanently Unlocked through Prestige. The same goes for any Equipment, Field Upgrades, or Scorestreaks you possess Skins for.

What do I get if I go Prestige in Black Ops 6?

• Prestige 1 Icon: Your first Prestige icon slots into the center of your Level Insignia for all players to see.
• “Nacht Raider” Weaver Operator Skin.
• Access to the Prestige 1 Multiplayer and Zombies Calling Card Challenge Sets.
• One Permanent Unlock.

Additionally, at specific milestones (every 10 levels), you’ll gain an exclusive Prestige reward: levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50. This applies to each level of Prestige, starting from 1 and continuing onwards.

Additionally, each time you Prestige, you get a Permanent Unlock.

How does Prestige’s Permanent Unlock work in Black Ops 6?

• You can use it to unlock a single item of your choice within the Player Levels.
• You obtain a total of 10 Permanent Unlocks, one per Prestige.
• Once you complete Prestige 10, Permanent Unlocks provide no further function as your Level Unlocks Progression becomes fully available once you’ve entered Prestige Master.

Instead of gradually progressing to Level 49, you could immediately acquire the LR 7.62 in Black Ops 6 by using a Permanent Unlock feature. This way, you gain instant access to the weapon without having to wait for leveling up. You have the freedom to choose which items you’d like to permanently unlock according to your preference.

Additional Prestige rewards in Black Ops 6

For every one of the ten Prestige levels, a tribute is made to a specific Black Ops game. Below, you will find all the rewards mentioned by Activision, excluding the Prestige 1 Icon and the “Nacht Raider” Weaver Operator Skin, which are only available once you’ve reached Prestige 1.

Prestige Master: Getting Legacy Prestige Icons and potentially superb rewards

Reaching the Prestige Master Level 100 grants you the privilege to display exclusive Legacy Prestige Emblems for all to see. Every time you advance 100 levels in Prestige Master, a fresh set of Legacy Prestige Icons becomes accessible to you.

If you manage to achieve the seemingly impossible Prestige Legend at Prestige Master Level 1,000, you’ll be granted exclusive Classified rewards, which can only be accessed at this specific level of 1,000.

Is it worth to go Prestige in Black Ops 6?

To put it simply, if you aren’t deeply invested in the game Call of Duty and have only casual interest, achieving ‘Prestige’ might not be rewarding since it requires a considerable amount of grinding after already acquiring most of the weapons and items.

If you intend to invest around 40-50 hours every week into Black Ops 6, it would be more worthwhile to strive for the Prestige level to keep the gameplay exciting and fresh.
