Everything about Marvel Rivals Season 1: Release date, new characters, buffs and nerfs
Marvel Rivals is about to get a boatload of new content when Season 1 releases.
Marvel Rivals’ Season 1 is just about to start, and we’re preparing for our largest game update yet!
In simple terms, new characters are being introduced to Marvel Rivals, and NetEase Games plans to fine-tune the balance based on a month’s worth of data gathered since the worldwide launch in December 2024.
In this article, we’ll cover all the essential details about Marvel Rival Season 1, including its subject matter and when it will be available.
When does Marvel Marvel Rivals Season 1 start?
The first-season update for Marvel Rivals is scheduled to drop on January 10th at 1 a.m Pacific Standard Time, as announced by NetEase Games. If the servers for Marvel Rivals remain active, players won’t experience any delay while jumping into the new season right away.
Fantastic Four is coming to Marvel Rivals and Ultron is also a possibility
The four main characters of the Fantastic Four – Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thunderbolt-wielding The Thing – are all set to join the roster in Marvel Rivals during its first season.
On January 2, Marvel Rivals confirmed that the Fantastic Four would make their entrance, with the highly anticipated trailer set to premiere on January 6. This upcoming sneak peek is expected to unveil their roles, special powers, and potential partnerships.
In addition to introducing the Fantastic Four, Marvel Rivals might consider integrating Ultron into their storyline during the entirety of Season 1 as well.
It appears that Ultron’s details haven’t been officially disclosed yet, but prominent data miner RivalsLeaks has uncovered evidence of Ultron’s design and skills within the Marvel Rivals game files.
Ultron is supposedly joining Marvel Rivals as a Strategist who will provide a bunch of healing.
Marvel Rivals Season 1 buffs and nerfs
While no official announcements have been made yet, it’s reasonable to anticipate significant adjustments in balancing for Marvel Rivals during its first season, given that this particular aspect of the game has remained unaltered since its global launch.
According to Rival Leaks, these are the characters getting buffs and nerfs in Season 1:
- Buffs
- Captain America (Vanguard)
- Cloak and Dagger (Strategist)
- Storm (Duelist)
- Venom (Vanguard)
- Wolverine (Duelist)
- Nerfs
- Hawkeye (Duelist)
- Hela (Duelist)
Among all these characters, it’s quite clear that Storm, Hela, and Hawkeye stand out the most. Although Storm has limited screen time, gamers have found ways to exploit the skills of both Hawkeye and Hela ever since their worldwide launch.
New maps, battlepass, skins, and more coming to Season 1
One of the challenges of any live service is not letting players get bored over time.
To keep things fresh, it’s expected that NetEase Games will probably unveil some fresh maps, an updated battlepass to offer players a goal, and a variety of new skins.
We’ll update this section once we know what is coming.
