Robert Irwin is reportedly dating someone new, and the news is causing a stir online – but not for the reasons people might think.

Social media exploded this week with rumors that 21-year-old wildlife advocate and current contestant on Dancing With The Stars US, is reportedly dating 19-year-old American professional dancer Hailey Bills. Fans have been buzzing about the possible romance.

I’m seeing a lot of buzz right now about how much Hailey resembles Robert’s sister, Bindi, who’s 27! People are really doing a double-take – the resemblance is pretty striking, honestly.

‘Looks exactly like Bindi… just saying’, one online user wrote of the stunning dancer. 

Another user commented that she resembled his sister, while a third person added, “Maybe her mother will be happy, since she looks like Bindi.”

‘I thought it was Bindi at first’, someone else commented, while yet another wrote: ‘That’s Bindi!’ 

News about Robert potentially having a new girlfriend has led to a lot of online talk about how his mother, Terri – who is known for being very protective of him – will respond.

One person commented with support, saying ‘Good for him,’ but also expressed doubt, adding ‘his mother won’t approve.’ Another commenter predicted the mother would be envious.

‘Ask mummy first or she won’t last long,’ someone else warned. 

The news surfaced after the Instagram account Deux Moi posted an email they received hinting at a new romance for Robert on Tuesday.

The popular bachelor from Dancing with the Stars has temporarily put his search for a partner on hold to enjoy some fun outside of the competition, according to an email.

I’ve heard he’s been seen getting close to a woman with brown hair several times. It’s the same woman he seems to spend a lot of time with while they’re filming. He only follows her on Instagram out of everyone in the cast.

It turned out the person was Hailey, a dancer with over a decade of experience. She’s skilled in ballroom, ballet, and hip hop, having started dancing in 2012.

Despite not confirming or denying the relationship rumors, Robert posted a video on Tuesday showing him and Hailey energetically dancing together in the street.

Honestly, watching Robert dance with Hailey was just amazing. He couldn’t stop smiling, and they clearly had a natural connection – you could feel it both when they were moving together and just being near each other. Their chemistry was undeniable!

‘Honorary troupe member,’ Robert wrote next to the clip. 

Last November, Robert shared that he’s still hoping to find a partner, following his breakup with Rorie Buckey in February 2024.

He appeared on Nine’s Today show and confessed there was ‘no one special’ in his life at that time.

After being called one of Australia’s most desirable single men on the show, a shy Robert admitted that he finds dating difficult.

He noted that being in the public spotlight presents unique challenges.

Robert said he wasn’t currently dating anyone. When asked what qualities he wanted in a partner, he shared his preferences.

‘I’m one of those people who is kind of gonna let it happen, I’m gonna let that unfold as it will. 

I find inspiration in my parents, and I see my sister, Bindi Irwin – who’s now married to Chandler – as a role model too.

He explained that he’s looking for someone who is adventurous and fully embraces this way of life, as it’s a big part of who he is and how he lives. Ultimately, he wants to share his experiences with a special person.

Robert and Rorie, both 20, reportedly started dating in November 2022, but didn’t publicly confirm their relationship on Instagram until August 2023.

Before Rorie and Robert became a couple, Rorie finished a special training program—approved by Steve Irwin—focused on wildlife conservation.

According to Woman’s Day, Rorie needed to impress her partner’s family by showing she enjoyed outdoor activities back in December 2023.

During a research trip focused on crocodiles, the couple found important information that will help the Wildlife Warriors Worldwide foundation.

Robert’s mother, Terri, and his sister Bindi, 26, were proud of how committed Robert was to helping Australian wildlife. Terri shared her children with her late husband, Steve.

Robert and Rorie were in a long-distance relationship because Robert works at Australia Zoo in Queensland, and Rorie lives in Perth.
