Every Superman 2025 Cameo Revealed: Supergirl, Bradley Cooper & More Spoiled Already
Although James Gunn has been secretive about it, several cameos from the 2025 Superman movie have already been leaked ahead of its release. Kicking off Gunn’s freshly created DC Universe on the big screen, the upcoming superhero blockbuster starring David Corenswet is set to present a unique perspective on the world of DC Comics, creating a new cinematic mythology for the brand, introducing characters never seen in live action before from the DC Comics universe, and laying the groundwork for the future direction of this DC Universe’s narrative.
Although audiences have already caught a glimpse of James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film, there are still some secrets waiting to be unveiled, as suggested by the director himself who previously worked on Guardians of the Galaxy. These enigmas revolve around prominent characters such as the elusive Ultraman, whose identity has sparked much speculation among fans. Additionally, there is an anticipation for possible surprise appearances from other notable figures in the movie.
Fortunately, according to Gunn, there’s a lot more excitement for fans to anticipate in the upcoming film, since he mentioned that there are still secrets left to be unveiled about it, just days before its release.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, when asked if there would be characters appearing in the 2025 Superman movie who haven’t been revealed yet, the DC Studios co-CEO answered affirmatively, saying “Yes.
Just one more query: Is it possible that any new characters will make an appearance in ‘Superman’, beyond those already revealed?
A: “Yes.”
Fans are likely to find this thrilling since a number of well-known celebrities have already been unveiled as making appearances in the Superman movie, which could somewhat diminish the anticipation for the film prior to its release on the big screen.
As a dedicated cinephile, I can hardly contain my excitement for the release of “Superman” hitting theaters on July 11th, unveiling James Gunn’s fresh take on the DC Universe. The narrative revolves around David Corenswet’s portrayal of Superman/Clark Kent, three years into his superhero escapades, juggling his human life as a budding journalist with safeguarding Earth as its powerful Kryptonian guardian.
In the debut movie of the DC Universe, Corenswet heads an impressive lineup of actors, which includes Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced.
Every Spoiler-y Cameo in Superman 2025 Movie
Sean Gunn – Maxwell Lord
For quite some time now, James Gunn has consistently aimed to involve his family in his film projects, and he often invites his brother Sean Gunn whenever possible. It seems that this trend will continue for the upcoming “Superman” movie, as the previous Guardians actor is set to portray Maxwell Lord within the DC Universe.
2023 saw Deadline first reporting Gunn’s role in the movie, which later appeared in promotional materials for the film as confirmed. The renowned DC Comics tycoon is said to make a single appearance in Superman, followed by another in summer’s Season 2 of Peacemaker.
In the DC Universe, Marvel Lords takes on his second character, portraying the mischievous yet endearing Weasel in the animated “Creature Commandos” series.
Michael Rosenbaum
Besides evoking memories of Superman comics during their heyday, the new portrayal of Superman will not only pay homage to his extensive history but also subtly reference his previous screen appearances.
Fans have already experienced a fresh take on John Williams’ famous Superman melody, and there’s more to come! In addition, an actor from Superman’s past will reappear, as confirmed by Michael Rosenbaum, who played Smallville’s Superman. He shared this news during his visit at Fan Expo Dallas (via ScreenRant).
As a follower, I can share that the actor known for portraying Lex Luthor hasn’t revealed the character I’ll be voicing or the extent of my involvement, but he did mention that it’s a fun vocal cameo featuring just “a couple of lines.
Pom Klementieff – Fortress of Solitude Robot
Following collaboration with James Gunn within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, actress Pom Klementieff earlier verified that discussions regarding a role in Gunn’s upcoming DC Universe project had taken place.
The part previously assigned to Superman has been officially filled, and it was recently disclosed by Gunn that the actress from Mantis will take on a role alongside Alan Tudyk as one of Superman’s robots within his Fortress of Solitude.
It’s yet unclear if Tessa Thomson Klementieff’s character in the film is only a voice role, or if she might take on a bigger, meatier role in the DC Universe in future installments.
Michael Rooker – Fortress of Solitude Robot
Given his extensive history of working with James Gunn, it was only fitting that Michael Rooker would also appear in the Superman series. Previously portraying Yondu in the initial two Guardians of the Galaxy films and Savant in The Suicide Squad, Rooker now assumes a fresh role within the DC Universe as another robot from Superman’s Fortress of Solitude.
Michael Rooker won’t be limiting his acting roles within the DC Universe, as he’s slated to take on another character. You can expect him to embody Red St. Wild when Peacemaker Season 2 premieres on HBO Max soon.
Bradley Cooper
It has been verified by James Gunn that an additional cast member from the Guardians ensemble will feature in Superman, with Bradley Cooper’s character Rocket slated to share a scene alongside Mantis actress, Pom Klementieff, and Brian Rooker.
It’s intriguing to note that Gunn didn’t specify who Cooper would portray, merely mentioning his involvement in a scene alongside his MCU colleagues. This has led some to speculate that the rumors suggesting Cooper might play Jor-El could hold more weight than initially assumed.
Will Reeve – News Reporter
Once again acknowledging the lengthy cinematic legacy of the Superman series, spanning almost half a century, James Gunn’s fresh take on DC comics pays homage to the actor who kick-started it all in the movies, Christopher Reeve.
Although sadly Reeve has passed away, as reported by Deadline, Gunn’s Superman will feature Will Reeve, the late actor’s son, in a brief yet impactful appearance that cleverly breaks the fourth wall.
In the upcoming film, the individual who currently works as an ABC News correspondent, named Reeve, will portray a television news reporter. This role serves to bridge the gap between Gunn’s interpretation of the character and the original 1978 Superman movie.
Milly Alcock – Supergirl
In the movie “Superman,” a notable appearance by Milly Alcock, playing Supergirl, seems to hint at future films in the DCU series.
In the upcoming “Supergirl” series this coming summer (previously titled “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”), Alcock will breathe life into Kara Zor-El, Kal-El’s Kryptonian relative. Before that, the groundwork for her interstellar solo journey will be set in “Superman”.
The first reports about Supergirl appearing in a new movie surfaced back in January 2025, with an article from Hollywood Reporter hinting at her role in Gunn’s upcoming production. Since then, actress Ida Alcock has been frequently linked to the film’s cast listings, suggesting that she will be a part of the project in some form.
