Announcements at the Pokémon Presents 2026
1. Pokémon GO is a decade old
Pokémon is celebrating 30 years, and its mobile game, Pokémon Go, is marking its 10th anniversary with a big event from March 7th to 9th, 2026. The event will feature Pokémon that have appeared in previous celebrations, all returning at the same time.

Before that, players can enjoy a special event celebrating the Kanto region from March 3rd to 6th. This will be followed by the Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos Global event, taking place on February 28th and March 1st, 2026.
2. Pokémon Champions all set for a 2026 release
Pokémon Champions is planned to launch in 2026. Nintendo Switch players will be able to start playing in early April, while the mobile version will be released at a later time. The game was first revealed last year during the Pokémon Presents 2025 event.
3. Pokémon UNITE adds Legendary trio

Pokémon UNITE is temporarily adding the Legendary Pokémon Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno as playable characters in a special event. Plus, a new game mode called Electrode Volleyball is launching soon, offering a more casual and lighthearted experience alongside the standard competitive play.
4. Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket brings freebies
From February 27th to June 26th, 2026, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is giving away special rewards to celebrate its anniversary. Simply log in and complete a few missions to earn unique accessories and bonuses themed around the 30th anniversary!

Pokémon Masters EX is having a big celebration for both the 30th anniversary of Pokémon and the game’s 6.5-year milestone! Players can look forward to new playable characters, including Red (from the 1996 Pokémon games) and his Pikachu, as well as special anniversary versions of Florian and Juliana. To mark the occasion, there’s also a free bonus of 3,000 gems just for logging in, and limited-time photo missions are currently available.
6. Pokémon Sleep adds Mythical Mew

Starting tonight, players of Pokémon Sleep can now encounter Mew! Along with this new addition, the game has launched new research tasks and missions centered around the Mythical Pokémon.
7. Pokémon Café ReMix brings Kanto starters in a new look
Starting February 28, 2026, Pokémon Café ReMix is joining the celebration of the Kanto region! The first Pokémon to appear as chefs and decorate the café are the original Kanto starters, all dressed up for the 30-year anniversary. Be sure to check out the special café decorations too!
8. Pokémon World Championships 2026
It’s already been announced, but it’s exciting to see preparations underway for the yearly championship. This year’s event will be held in San Francisco, and we’re expecting about 3,000 competitors to participate.
This year’s championships will take place at the Chase Center, a venue said to be three times the size of last year’s. The event will feature competitions for Pokémon video game champions, as well as tournaments for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE.
