Additionally, each ghost possesses a unique ability that distinguishes them from the other spirits. Therefore, to honor these spirits, their stories, afterlives, and their special abilities, I have compiled a comprehensive list of them all.

Among the numerous spirits dwelling in Woodstone Manor, the television series “Ghosts” focuses on eight primary spectral characters. Here’s a comprehensive overview of their backgrounds.

Isaac Higgintoot

In my humble opinion as a movie critic, let me clarify that our protagonist, Isaac, was not traversing the Oregon Trail; instead, he found himself amidst the tumultuous events of the Revolutionary War. Yet, his tale takes an unfortunate turn, as he succumbed to dysentery in the 18th century – a harsh reminder of the hardships faced by those who lived during that era.

The ability he possesses: Anyone passing by him will detect an odor reminiscent of flatulence. It’s plausible that this power originated from his surname, Higgintoot, though that’s merely speculation on my part.

Alberta Haynes

The Tragic Death of Alberta Haynes: Alberta Haynes was certain she had been murdered, and eventually, this suspicion was confirmed. In the 1920s, she met an unfortunate end when she drank poisoned moonshine that was left outside her door by Thomas Woodstone, Hetty’s son.

Her Reach: The soft, soulful tones of Alberta resonate so profoundly that they can be felt and heard by many (nearly everyone).

Pete Martino

Method of Pete’s Death: Pete served as the head of a scout group, and the artifact that took his life is still fastened around his uniform’s tie. To clarify, Pete met his end in 1985 due to a neck wound inflicted by an arrowshot.

Pete’s Ability: Pete has the freedom to move beyond boundaries, but he risks becoming invisible if he stays away for an extended period.

Trevor Lefkowitz

The Cause of Trevor’s Death: Trevor passed away during a wild night out and without his pants on. In the end, excessive drinking and pill use triggered a fatal heart attack in 2000. It was later discovered that he had lost his trousers, as he had given them to Pinkus, a colleague who was being initiated on their company’s excursion to Woodstone Manor.

With great focus, Trevor possesses the ability to manipulate objects. This skill enables him to type, operate the remote control, and maintain a regular job in finance.

Hetty Woodstone

In the heart of the Victorian era, I find myself compelled to recount the haunting tale of Hetty, a woman whose life was tragically cut short. Hetty’s demise, though untimely, was self-inflicted, her last act being the use of a telephone cord to end her own life. An ironic twist unfolds when we discover that this very same cord had earlier been instrumental in saving Flower from the depths of a well where she had become trapped. A chilling reminder that even in death, Hetty’s actions continued to impact those around her.

Her Manifestation: She becomes visible to the living merely on St. Patrick’s Day. This occurrence took place shortly after Hetty embraced her Irish ancestry.

Thorfinn

As a movie buff, I can’t help but reflect on the tragic demise of Thor in 1007 CE. That fateful day, lightning struck him, and he was unfortunate enough to be wearing a metal helmet at the time. All things considered, it was a grim turn of events indeed.

Thor’s Ability: Translated simply, Thor has the power to disrupt energy sources – for instance, causing a lightbulb to dim or a device like a ghost trap to malfunction. More precisely, he can control and manipulate electrical currents.

How He Died: We still don’t know how Sas died, but we do know it was in the 1500s.

In this captivating cinematic journey, I found myself exploring a unique realm – the dreamscape of a character named Jay. So far, we’ve ventured into settings as diverse as a basketball court and a Star Trek-esque spaceship, all courtesy of a mysterious figure known only as ‘His Power’. This film promises an intriguing exploration of dreams, their meanings, and the boundaries between reality and fantasy.

Flower

The Tragic End of Flower: Flower tragically lost her life in 1969, following an encounter with a bear while at a music festival on private grounds. Being under the influence, she attempted to embrace the bear, an action that unfortunately did not end well.

Her Power: If Flower walks through a human, she can make them feel high for a short period.

Ghosts Who Are Linked To The House, But Not Regulars

Let’s shift gears towards our less frequent spectral visitors. Here, we will delve into the spirits associated with the manor, who aren’t present in every episode like our main ghostly characters.

  • Nancy and the Basement Ghosts – This crew of basement ghosts all died of cholera, and their power is that they can give others symptoms of cholera.
  • Nigel Chessum – Nigel, Isaac’s ex and one of the Red Coats who lives in the shed, was shot and killed by his eventual love interest. However, Isaac didn’t do it on purpose; he sneezed and accidentally pulled the trigger. We don’t know what Nigel’s power is.
  • Carol – Choking on a donut hole is not an expected way to go, but that is how Carol, Pete’s widow, died. Her power hasn’t been revealed.
  • Stephanie – The teenager Stephanie ended up being killed by a chainsaw murderer, and her boyfriend escaped. Most of the time, she’s sleeping, so we don’t know her power.
  • Patience – Patience is a Puritan who lives in the dirt, and when she comes out, she’ll occasionally use her power to write blood messages on the walls.
  • Chris the Stripper – Chris the Stripper was just trying to put on a good show with his parachute on Ghosts. However, he died in a skydiving accident with his parachute on. His power (and parachute) allows him to fly outside the ghost boundary.
  • Elias Woodstone – Hetty’s evil husband, who works for the devil now, suffocated in Woodstone’s basement vault. His power is hilarious because if anyone walks through him, they become aroused.
  • Crash – Crash is like the headless horseman of the bunch. He was decapitated and died, and in death, he can take his head on and off.
  • The Red Coats – Along with Nigel, there’s a whole gaggle of Red Coats who live in the shed of Woodstone Manor.

Indeed, it appears that numerous spirits have perished on this very premise, and it seems likely that more may follow. Yet, it’s essential to note that these spectral beings are not confined within the boundaries of Woodstone; we’ve encountered them beyond its borders as well.

Ghosts Who Are Not Linked To The House

Occasionally, the program transports us beyond our homes, and sometimes a ghost appears at Woodstone, provided it’s not confined by a border. Here are some of the spirits we’ve encountered:

On rare occasions, this series takes us outside our houses, while on certain instances, a ghost shows up at Woodstone, unless it’s tied to a limit. These are the spirits we’ve come across:

  • Joan – We don’t know how Joan, Sas’s love interest and a screenwriter from the 1940s, died, but we do know her power makes her boundaryless.
  • Jessica – Another one of Sas’s love interests, Jessica, died in a car accident and is linked to the vehicle. She can make the car’s alarm go off.
  • Bjorn – Thor’s son died next door on the Farnsby’s property. We don’t know exactly how he died or what his power is.
  • Shiki – Back when Sas was alive, he had a crush on Shiki. She lives in the Ulster County Review building, but we don’t know how she died or what her power is.
  • Judy Farnsby – Judy is Henry Farnsby’s mom, who lives in his house, which is next to Sam and Jay’s manor. We don’t know how she died or what her power is.
  • Donna – Donna was Pete’s St. Lucia-based girlfriend. She died after being hit on the head with a phone that had been dropped from a balcony. Her power is unknown.
  • Saul – This baseball player came into the picture as a poltergeist. He died after getting hit in the head with a baseball during a game. His power isn’t made clear in the episode.
  • David Woodstone – David Woodstone is linked to a strip club, and he died of a brain aneurysm. His power is unknown.
  • Sheryl – Sam’s mom died in a restaurant because of an allergic reaction to shrimp. Fittingly, her power is that she can burp shrimp breath that the living can smell.

Ranging from tragic demises to amusing abilities, the imagination is limitless, and it’s always enjoyable to encounter a fresh spirit.
