Eversoul is shutting down in Japan this August 20, just after a year of its launch

Kakao Games Corporation has declared that their collectible role-playing game, Eversoul, will cease operations in Japan starting from August 2025. Initially slated for a global debut in 2021, the game encountered two postponements before its eventual release in 2023. The Japanese version launched in May 2024, but is now closing down after a year since its introduction.

Eversoul is bidding farewell after just a year of service in Japan

For the uninitiated, Eversoul is a role-playing game that involves gathering a team of characters, or “Souls”, from six distinct factions, each boasting their own special abilities and combat sequences. Boasting breathtaking anime aesthetics and graphics, this game also offers you the chance to customize your own town, as well as engage with your Souls within it.

Sadly, the EverSoul Management Team has decided to close the game permanently as of August 20, 2025, in Japan. They explained their decision by saying, “We find it challenging to deliver services that meet our customers’ expectations in the long run.

You can use any remaining paid items until EoS or apply for refunds

After the announcement, they have stopped allowing the purchase of Everstone (paid), as well as premium items such as Charin Pack and Manon Pack. However, there’s exciting news: there is still plenty of content scheduled until the end, including a revival event, new spirits, reruns of featured summons, raids, sub-events, and even a 3x reward event!

Additionally, here’s some positive news: Any unredeemed prizes from Achievement Packs, Soul Passes, and Promotion Passes will be delivered directly to your in-game mailbox, regardless of whether you met the necessary conditions. For monthly packs, your ongoing benefits remain active, and any leftover rewards will follow suit, being sent via the same method.

If you’ve got unspent Everstone credits, you’ll be eligible for refunds from August 20th to October 22nd. The refund application will become accessible here once the service for Eversoul Japan officially ends. Although it’s unfortunate that Eversoul Japan is closing down so quickly, you can continue your adventure in the global version if you still enjoy playing the game.
