Even Superman wants to be a Jedi
Currently, David Corenswet is captivating viewers with his portrayal of the latest Superman! This notable DC character has been making waves, with a busy media tour that includes polygraph examinations and even visits to royal courts. However, one consistent theme seems to have emerged…Superman expresses a desire to become a Jedi.
David Corenswet’s journey to stardom has been swift and remarkable. Following the notice he received for his performances in “The Politician” and “Hollywood”, he was chosen to portray the new Superman in James Gunn’s latest production. His interpretation of Clark Kent has earned praise, demonstrating his range and depth as an actor. However, even with his superhero persona, Corenswet appears to be drawn to a different realm altogether.
In a recent interview on Vanity Fair’s YouTube series, “Lie Detector Test”, Corenswet was questioned by his co-star Nicholas Hoult about his preference between reprising the role of Superman in future films or joining the Star Wars universe. Without a moment’s pause, he opted for the latter, expressing his desire as, “Becoming a Jedi Knight in Star Wars… I’m currently bound by contract for a [Superman] sequel, but I would be ready to renegotiate for a role in a Star Wars film.
This open statement ignited enthusiasm among fans, who have for a long time speculated about which Star Wars character Corenswet might embody. His tall build, sincere personality, and talent to express both power and fragility make him an ideal candidate for a Jedi role. He further added, “My ideal role, I believe, would be to play an X-Wing pilot. Although being a Jedi was my childhood aspiration, now that I’m into aviation, I think an X-Wing pilot would be more fitting.
As a die-hard Star Wars fan like myself, it’s clear that David Corenswet’s love for the galaxy far, far away shines through in every conversation and action. I can relate to his dream of stepping into the universe, be it through his expressed desire to join the adventure or his unconventional viewing order ideas. His playful banter with fellow fans only adds to his credibility as a dedicated Star Wars enthusiast. With his current role as Superman, one can’t help but ponder if we might soon witness him not just flying with a cape, but also wielding a lightsaber instead!
Considering his growing popularity, Lucasfilm might want to consider casting Corenswet. The franchise could benefit from fresh talent and having enthusiastic fans of the franchise in key roles can only strengthen it. It’s still unclear what character Corenswet would suit best, but there are certainly numerous possibilities that can be explored.
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’m currently basking in the glory of Christopher Corenswet’s stellar performances as Superman, gracing our cinema screens right now. Yet, with his undeniable passion and skill on full display, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if one fine day, he swaps his iconic red and blue suit for a Jedi robe in some future galactic adventure.
