Eva Longoria shares her opinion on Selena Gomez after they worked together on Only Murders In The Building
As a lifelong admirer of Eva Longoria, witnessing her radiant morning appearance on television was like savoring a delectable dish at a five-star restaurant. Her charm and charisma are as captivating as ever, and her passion for cooking is evident in every word she speaks about her new cookbook, My Mexican Kitchen.
Eva Longoria was up with the sun as she promoted her new cookbook in New York City on Tuesday.
The 49-year-old actress, known for her role in creating the hit John Wick series, exuded radiance as she made her way towards the Good Morning America studios.
In that setting, she discussed her recently published cookbook titled “My Mexican Kitchen: 100 Recipes Infused with Heritage, Taste, and Zest,” as well as her experiences working on “Only Murders in the Building.
In a movie adaptation of her neighbor’s podcast, Longoria stepped into the role that mirrored herself, portraying Mabel Mora, a character based on Selena Gomez. The seasoned actress heaped compliments on her fellow performer.
Selena I’ve known for quite some time,” she shared with Lara Spencer. “She’s got such a wise mind, she’s truly amazing,” Longoria expressed, in response to being asked if she had provided any guidance to the actress, musician, and Rare Beauty founder.
As fellow Texans, we share a unique heritage that makes us both Texican. However, she embodies the spirit of Mexico so profoundly, I found myself in awe of her journey and strength. She’s an exceptional role model for countless women, making my guidance unnecessary. Her wisdom and clarity are self-evident. It was truly a dream come true to collaborate with the legendary duo, Steve Martin and Martin Short.
On Tuesday’s morning talk show, Longoria played the part of a quick-service chef to present a simple vegetarian chili recipe.
Instead of wearing a chef’s jacket, the former Desperate Housewives star chose a sleek, bronze long-sleeved blouse for her outfit. This blouse highlighted the warm hues in her complexion and was paired with a brown suede maxi skirt.
She added a pop of color with burnt orange suede high heel boots.
Her hair was arranged in neat, straight tiers, while the actress from The Land of Women had her makeup perfectly primed for the camera, yet maintaining a natural appearance.
Longoria said she was inspired to write her cookbook while working on CNN’s Searching for Mexico.
The cookbook I created mirrors the era I experienced, traveling across that entire nation, reconnecting with my roots, which made me think, “I need to record all this,” and soon enough, I had amassed numerous recipes, leading me to say, “I must share these.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that the creator of Flamin’ Hot, referring to herself as a “short order cook” for her husband José Bastón and our adorable six-year-old Santiago, has ensured that the recipes in this fresh collection are designed to be easily accessible for all.
I dislike cookbooks that aren’t user-friendly. They should be straightforward and effortless, yet they offer delightful recipes with a traditional twist.
She mentioned that the meal she was cooking was a vegetarian chili, implying no meat, but feel free to add some if you prefer.
The glamorous cook used a large stew pot to which she added some chopped peppers and onions with olive oil.
‘You’re free to choose from a variety of colored peppers I have – red, orange, or yellow – whichever pepper suits your preference is perfectly fine for you to use.’
Afterward, she moved over to a second pot where the sautéed vegetables were already simmering. To this, she added a variety of spices like cumin, chili powder, cayenne, and red pepper flakes, as Longoria prefers her chili with a touch of heat.
In addition to her role as the actress, she generously incorporated a large amount of garlic. “There’s quite a bit of garlic here,” Spencer noted.
‘I love garlic,’ exclaimed Longoria, ‘There’s no such thing as too much garlic,’ she contended.’
‘Agreed,’ said the host.
Then it was time to add the tomatoes, water and the beans, stir and let simmer for 30 minutes.
‘I love all the beans. You can use any bean,’ she said of the versatile recipe.
On Tuesday, My Mexican Kitchen hit the bookshelves, coinciding with the release of the final episode from The Only Murders in the Building’s season.
