Eva Longoria has shared what she really thinks about Kim Kardashian’s talent for comedy, now that she’s directed her in their new movie, The Fifth Wheel.
The 51-year-old actress, who now makes films, said the 45-year-old Kardashian was ‘really hilarious’.
She expressed her excitement for people to see the actress shine in the upcoming film, hoping it will lead to more opportunities for women in comedy.
Created by Janine Brito and Paula Pell, this comedy centers on a group of high school best friends trying to rekindle their bond with a weekend trip to Las Vegas.
I’m so excited about this new movie! From what I understand, it’s about a group of friends whose lives get totally shaken up when this amazing, new person – Kim Kardashian, no less! – shows up unexpectedly. It sounds like her arrival forces them to really look at their mistakes, the complicated parts of their lives, and how their friendships are falling apart. It’s going to be intense, but I can’t wait to see how it all plays out!
Longoria said the project was a blast, explaining they’d just finished filming after three months, wrapping up in Las Vegas. She described it as a dream job.
The film features comedic talents Will Ferrell, Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson, Nikki Glaser, and Brenda Song.
Kardashian, Ferrell and Longoria all have producer credits on the film.
In a recent interview with People, Eva Longoria described the film as a bold, R-rated comedy starring women, and said it feels fresh and relevant for today’s audiences.
Eva Longoria, known for her role in Desperate Housewives, shared that Kim Cattrall is the heart of their new movie, and they had a lot of fun working together. Longoria and Cattrall have been friends for 25 years, and Cattrall was thrilled when Longoria got the part, saying she was glad Longoria could showcase her comedic side.
The Fifth Wheel marks Kardashian’s first-ever leading role in a feature film.
It comes nearly two decades after she made her acting debut in the 2008 spoof Disaster Movie.
She later starred in the 2018 film Ocean’s Eight and Tyler Perry’s 2013 movie, Temptation: Confessions Of A Marriage Counselor.
Kardashian has also lent her voice to the character Delores in two animated PAW Patrol movies.
Sources at Deadline have reported that Kardashian is expected to be heavily involved in promoting her new show, The Fifth Wheel. This makes sense, as she’s proven to be skilled at building brands throughout her career.
The wealthy and well-known personality recently appeared in the Hulu legal drama series All’s Fair, with Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash.
The show was renewed for a second season after being viewed more than 3.2 million times.
The show first aired on November 4, 2025, and audiences loved it, calling it a fun and glamorous way to escape reality.
