Oh my gosh, Eva Longoria just said it! She revealed that having Santiago at 43 was absolutely perfect timing for her! She basically explained she’d already accomplished everything she wanted in her career, like she’d lived a full life and was finally ready for motherhood. It’s just… so her! I knew she’d be an amazing mom when the time was right, and she totally feels that way too!
The 50-year-old actress, who had her son Santiago seven years ago in 2018, recently said she feels much wiser and more patient as a mother now that she’s in her 40s.
Eva announced she was expecting a baby in 2018, two years after marrying José Bastón. She explained that her family is now the most important thing in her life and comes first when she makes decisions about her work.
Eva Longoria, known for her role in Desperate Housewives and starring in the new holiday movie Christmas Karma, says she’s very selective about the projects she takes on. She’ll only agree to a role if she’s excited about working with the people involved, because filming takes time away from her son.
Christmas Karma is a fresh, updated version of the classic story A Christmas Carol, and Eva plays the role of The Ghost of Christmas Past.
Honestly, she gets it. Family always comes first, and that’s everything to me about her. She’s said it herself – if a project is going to steal time from her loved ones, it has to be something she’s genuinely passionate about and with people she truly loves working alongside. It’s just… so refreshing to hear someone be so real about that balance. I totally get why she feels that way, and it makes me admire her even more!

She told The Sunday Times Style Magazine that having a child at 43 felt like the right time, explaining that you gain a lot of wisdom and patience as a mother in your forties. She also shared that she had spent many years focused on her own needs before becoming a parent.
I lived a full life for forty years, and I’m so grateful to have had my child later in life. I’d already had the chance to travel and focus on my career. Now, everything feels like a bonus, and I get to enjoy it all with my son.
Eva Longoria will be directing a new Netflix comedy, ‘The Fifth Wheel,’ starring Kim Kardashian. While family remains her priority, she also shared her gratitude for her husband, José, who consistently supports her work.
Eva recently spoke about her life, stating she wouldn’t alter any part of her early career struggles or past divorces, because she embraces the journey that led her to where she is today.
Originally from Texas, the actress discovered her passion for performing when she won a talent contest. This win brought her to Los Angeles, where an agent recognized her potential and signed her.
But she decided to make the move to Hollywood in the 1990s with just six dollars to her name.
Initially, she had trouble financially and spent four years working as a recruiter to cover her expenses.
But Eva got her first TV gig with a small part on Beverly Hills, 90210.

After that, she appeared on General Hospital and later secured the part of Isabella Braña in the soap opera, The Young and the Restless.
Four years after that, she landed the role of Gabrielle Solis on Desperate Housewives, and the show quickly made her famous nationwide.
Even though it took years of hard work before she found success, she now says she wouldn’t trade those difficult times, because they helped her truly appreciate her current position.
The director of Flamin’ Hot recently told The Sun that he embraces his past hardships. He fondly remembers even struggling financially when he first arrived in Hollywood with only six dollars, and views failures as valuable learning experiences and opportunities for growth.
I used to be caught up in a hectic cycle of chasing success – constantly auditioning, working corporate jobs, and juggling multiple positions. I struggled financially, with rent and student loan payments, but I wouldn’t trade those difficult experiences. Going through all of that – experiencing every step of the journey – shaped who I am today.
‘I like that because it makes me appreciate this position I am in more now.’
Despite going through two divorces, Eva says she wouldn’t change a thing about her past relationships.
Selena Gomez is married to José Bastón and they have a seven-year-old son named Santiago.
She was married before to Tyler Christopher, who starred on General Hospital, but they divorced in 2004 after marrying in 2002.
The year Eva separated from Tyler, she began dating basketball player Tony Parker. They became engaged two years later and were married in Paris in July 2007.
In 2010, she confided in her friend and co-star Mario Lopez, revealing she’d found hundreds of text messages on Tony’s phone from another woman.
She filed for divorce in November, stating that she and her husband had grown too far apart. After the divorce was finalized in January 2011, she reflected that she hadn’t realized during the marriage, but she had fallen into a pattern similar to someone feeling trapped and unhappy in their home life.
I’ve been following her story for years, and what always strikes me is her incredible honesty. She’s said repeatedly that she has absolutely no regrets about her first two marriages – she’d go through it all again exactly as it happened. She truly believes everything led her to where she is now, and she ‘loves the path she was on,’ which I find so inspiring.
Eva believes she wouldn’t change anything about her past, even if she could. She doesn’t want to warn her younger self about bad decisions – like a past marriage or a specific accident – because she embraces all of her experiences, both good and bad. She loves the journey she’s had, imperfections and all.
The Golden Globe-nominated actress and José started dating in 2013 and got married three years afterward.
She recently shared some unexpected insights into what makes her marriage work, explaining that she doesn’t consider her husband her closest friend.
From what I’ve seen with successful couples, one of the biggest things is avoiding competition for attention. It sounds simple, but it really creates a safe and supportive dynamic where both partners feel valued and secure. It’s about lifting each other up, not trying to outshine one another, and that makes all the difference.
She told DailyMail last November that he makes her laugh, is a supportive partner, and always encourages her.
‘I support him in everything he does. We don’t compete for attention or spotlight.’
Shortly after the U.S. elections last year, Eva gained attention for openly sharing her reasons for moving.
The Texas-born resident, who had lived in Los Angeles for most of their adult life, shared in an interview that the atmosphere in California had begun to change even before the COVID-19 pandemic.
She explained to Marie Claire that the pandemic was the final straw. While she doesn’t want to speak negatively about California, issues like homelessness and taxes led her to feel like it was time to move on to a new phase of her life.

The celebrity explained that they feel fortunate to be able to travel and take breaks, recognizing that many people in the US aren’t able to do the same. They expressed worry and sadness for those who feel trapped and are struggling with the current state of the country.
Her harsh assessment of the United States sparked rumors online that she had left for her properties overseas to avoid Donald Trump.
However, she’d actually bought a house in Marbella in 2023, and by April 2024, people close to her were saying she was planning to move overseas.
According to a source who spoke with Daily Mail, she and José are moving away from the United States to protect their son, Santiago, from the negative influences of the Hollywood lifestyle.
Okay, so I heard from someone who knows that they’re moving to get their little boy away from all the craziness of Hollywood. They just want him to grow up surrounded by nature and, like, actual beauty, you know? They don’t want him caught up in that whole superficial, manufactured world. It’s honestly so sweet and exactly what he deserves, a normal life!
They’re relocating to Spain permanently and are thrilled about the move. She feels she’s achieved everything she hoped for in her Hollywood career.
