Euphoria star cleans kitchens to make ends meet leaving fans shocked
Actress Nika King from the hit show “Euphoria” has been gaining notice not just for her acting work, but also because she co-owns a vegan soul food restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
46-year-old actor portrayed Leslie Bennett, who is the mother of Rue Bennett (played by Zendaya) and Gia Bennett (portrayed by Storm Reid), across fourteen episodes in the initial two seasons of the HBO show.
Last week, the queen drew notice due to her diverse work skills, as she shared a photo on Instagram of herself tidying up the restaurant’s kitchen.
The caption read ‘When [people] ask me if I’m filming S3 of Euphoria? Me:’
Many supporters of the king expressed various feelings in the discussion forum, with several expressing astonishment that an actor from a popular HBO show needed to work a regular job alongside their acting career.
One user commented, ‘It’s clear the job market isn’t great when even big TV stars are finding it tough,’ while another noted that discovering ‘actors have regular jobs outside their on-screen roles is quite eye-opening for me.’

Another user thanked King for shining a light on the struggle many actors face between jobs.
The person, being an actor, expressed relief as he’d been jobless for the last two years following a major production. He found it incredibly affirming when he spoke about it. Your sentiment is appreciated.
One user had a similar sentiment, hailing King for keeping it real.
The user remarked, ‘This is genuine experience, and I’m grateful you’ve given me a glimpse of it.’ They shared that there’s a common misconception about actors and actresses being wealthy solely from one series, but they know some who continue to work ordinary jobs even after appearing on a streaming platform like Hulu.
Another individual expressed disbelief, finding it quite unfortunate or unjust, given her talent, that Queen is required to hold a typical job.
‘You’re a phenomenal performer and you truly deserve everything,’ the user said.
Another user mentioned that their Euphoria character’s situation mirrors that of “Mama Ru,” a hardworking individual who juggles two jobs, deeply cherishes her children, and tirelessly continues her efforts.
One individual commended Queen for her enterprising attitude, stating, “Many are labeling this as ‘sad,’ but remember, this is HER enterprise. She’s not dependent on others for her well-being… I genuinely admire this.

Hailing from Miami, the show’s original actress, King, announced back on February 28 that she would not be rejoining the series for its third season.
People have been messaging me about DM’s and comments asking if there will be a third season of ‘Euphoria’, but I regret to say that it won’t happen.
The actress expressed her gratitude to her 176,000 Instagram fans for the chance to portray the prominent character.
Unfortunately, my character won’t be returning to the show, but I am incredibly grateful to HBO, Zendaya, and Sam Levinson for providing me with this amazing opportunity to work on set and showcase my talents. It was particularly meaningful because many people don’t know that I have a comedy background, so this allowed me to stretch myself as an actor. I’m really excited about what lies ahead for me in the future.
The monarch expressed her gratitude for being given the chance to expand and exhibit her abilities in a more theatrical part.
Without Euphoria, I couldn’t embark on the journey of discovering myself as an actor, as a daughter, and as a person who seeks healing through each role I take on – thus, it seems vital for my personal development.

She also mentioned, ‘Indeed, to my dear fans, I adore each one of you. Frankly, I wasn’t aware that I even had fans! It seems people have been seeking me out. I was taken aback, yet pleasantly surprised – “Oh, okay, cool”. Thank you so much for your support and have a fantastic day ahead. Peace and blessings be upon you.’
After appearing on the popular HBO series, King has since featured in films like “The Sound of Hope: The Tale of Possum Trot” (released in 2024), “The Rebel Girls” (also from 2024), and “65” which premiered in 2023.
King made clear she was leaning on her faith amid the transitional time.
In my perspective, everything seems to align for those who deeply cherish God and are guided by His plan – and I am placing my faith in Him to guide me through the upcoming phase of my journey.
