The upcoming vampire series, Eternally Yours, from the creators of the popular show Ghosts, has found its main actor. Ghosts, which premiered on CBS in October 2021 and stars Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, has become a major success, evolving beyond its origins as a remake of a British show.
Despite the recent premiere of Ghosts season 5, a sixth season is already in the works. The show’s creators, Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, are also developing a new comedy called Eternally Yours for CBS. While not directly connected to Ghosts, this new series will share a similar comedic tone and supernatural theme.
According to Deadline, Ed Weeks—known for his role as Dr. Jeremy Reed in The Mindy Project—will star in the pilot episode of Eternally Yours. He’ll be playing a character named Charles. Filming is scheduled to begin in early 2026, and after it’s finished and the episode is edited, the network will decide if they want to order a full series.

The story follows Charles, a vampire who’s been married to Liz for five hundred years, but their relationship is deeply troubled. Once a nobleman, Charles now lives a mundane life as a bureaucrat, constantly moving his family to hide their immortality.
Charles isn’t a fan of modern life or people in general, so he’s not thrilled when his daughter begins dating a human. Casting for the other main characters in this supernatural comedy hasn’t been revealed yet, but announcements are expected as the show gets closer to filming over the next few weeks and months.
I’ve been really enjoying Weeks’ work – you might know him from The Mindy Project, but he was also great in the recent thriller Drop. He’s been in a lot of fun shows like American Housewife, Not Dead Yet, and Dirty Sexy Funny too. I’m excited about his new project, Eternally Yours, which is a single-camera show coming from CBS Studios. I heard Port and Wiseman are writing it and will also be executive producers, along with Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang.
The actors in Ghosts are a major reason the show is so popular, making it the highest-rated sitcom on network television with around 8.3 million viewers per episode. Choosing the right cast for Eternally Yours will be crucial to building on that success and creating another hit show about supernatural beings.
