Forget the debate about whether competitive gaming is a real sport! The Esports World Cup is proving its legitimacy by investing $20 million in 2026 to help esports grow. This funding will be used to build new clubs and expand the entire esports scene worldwide.

The Esports World Cup began its involvement in esports in 2023 with the goal of building a thriving, long-term community. They aim to connect competitive players and fans worldwide.

Esports World Cup to invest $20 million throughout 2026 into global esports ecosystem

The Esports World Cup, held annually in Saudi Arabia, is committed to growing the gaming and esports scene. They’re investing $20 million worldwide in 2026 to help esports clubs reach more fans and strengthen their brands.

The program’s partners are already lined up to work with 40 clubs in 2026. These clubs will receive significant funding – at least six figures – as well as early access to the EWCF Superfan Program and ongoing support to build stronger connections with fans and create compelling stories around the Esports World Cup 2026.

As a big esports fan, I’m so happy to see this! Things have been really shaky lately – one minute things are looking up, the next they’re not. This feels like a huge step forward for everyone involved.

Several clubs will also have the chance to compete in the Esports World Cup next summer, making this program a great opportunity for anyone interested. Applications will be accepted from November 18th to December 18th, 2025.
